Hotel Santa Chiara

"Of the hundreds of hotels in Venice, we found the Santa Chiara Hotel on a list of those within easy walking distance of the Piazzale Roma, where our bus left us with our luggage. What a find! The service was excellent, the staff was knowledgeable, the room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was superb. We would return to Santa Chiara without question."

"We loved our three-night stay at this hotel, which was a real highlight of our rail journey around Italy. The location was great for us with the hotel being around 5 minutes walk from the station across Ponte Della Costituzione (as well as being right next to the Piazzale Roma vaporetto stop). A few minutes walk takes you to Fondamente del Monastero from where it's a lovely 20 minute walk through the quieter Santa Croce/San Polo districts to Rialto and around a further 10-15 minutes to San Marco. Check in was very quick and efficient - we were able to access our room a little earlier than the advertised check-in time. Our room (306), which was in the older part of the hotel with views of the Rio Nuovo, was beautifully appointed and met all our expectations. Breakfast was lovely - views of the Hrand Canal, plenty of choice with everything prepared/cooked to order rather than being buffet style. We hope to return to Venice again in future and wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel for a second visit."
