"Just back from another week in the wonderful Oasis Hotel in Alghero , this time with my son and his partner.
Don't pay attention to any negative reviews, it is a wonderful Hotel with some of the best restaurant food ever...well worth going half board! Local Sardinian food with such vast choices of vegetables, fish, pasta, meats , cheeses, fruit and pastries catering for all tastes.
The restaurant staff are lovely and always have a smile on their faces and do their best for you.
The poolside cafe and bar also serves good food and we ate there a few lunchtimes. There was also live music there on a couple of evenings.
The whole hotel is spotlessly clean including the lovely pools and garden area.
The bedrooms are good with excellent showers and huge comfy beds. Most bedrooms have balconies, ours were both overlooking the pool area with wonderful views on 2nd floor.
The hotel has two lifts and plenty of ramps so ideal for less mobile guests and wheelchair users. There are also some accessible rooms on the ground floor.
The main pool has been refurbished since I last came two years ago and now has a ramp allowing wheelchair users direct access to the water.
The hotel itself is cash free and you just present your room card when paying for drinks etc. You get a receipt each time so easy to see what you have spent and you can pay at the end or daily if you prefer.
There is also a mini market attached to the hotel for essentials as the residences opposite are self catering, and also a pizzeria which we didn't use this time. These however take cash or card.
The lovely Maria Pia beach is a 100 meter walk away across a pine wood although there is also a path to it and beds and umbrellas can be hired for about 20 euros a day although you can just use the beach for free .
Alghero town is about 40 min walk away or 5 to 10 mins in a taxi (15 to 20 euros) or a couple of euro by bus opposite the hotel.
Old Town is well worth a visit although not as accessible friendly and Neptune's Grotto a lovely boat ride away and well worth a visit. ( Also accessible by steps for the more active!)
Altogether a fabulous holiday and I can't wait to return!
Here are a few of the many photos we took."
