"Veronica Studios, Kolios, did not meet the standard expected of an EasyJet holiday package. Throughout our stay, the level of service fell short of expectations. The usual warmth and hospitality we associate with Greece and were notably lacking, the overall impression was one of reluctance in providing guest services, possibly due to this being a handed down family business maybe?. There were several concerns regarding cleanliness and maintenance. The swimming pool contained debris, including dead insects, and did not appear to be adequately maintained during our stay, no obvious testing or running of the filter pump during the day, which made us reluctant to use it. Within the apartment, certain advertised facilities, such as a hairdryer, were not provided. Additionally, supplementary charges (e.g. air conditioning at €7 per night and use of the safe at €1 per night) which were not clearly detailed in advance on the EasyJet website. The self-catering facilities were limited and below expectation, with no toaster or basic washing-up provisions provided. Crockery and utensils also required cleaning prior to use. In terms of comfort, the bed was particularly poor, with only a single pillow supplied. A fire alarm began beeping during the early hours 3am, on one occasion due to a depleted battery, which was not addressed promptly and was not agreed to be done until evidenced. Surely this is a simple maintenance job to do at the beginning of the season. The bathroom, while generally clean, lacked practical storage for toiletries, and the wet-room layout often resulted in personal items becoming wet. Bedding was remade but not changed during the week, and basic consumables such as toilet paper were not replenished after the complimentary single roll was used, while its pittance in cost, again it was not detailed more would need to be provided at the customers expense. There were also issues surrounding the handling of local taxes. Although anticipated, payment was requested repeatedly from the outset rather than at departure. Furthermore, there was no clear check-out arrangement, with no staff present and no formal process for returning keys, when I departed at 9am. On a positive note, the island itself was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the destination. However, based on our experience, we would not consider returning to these studios."

"We only stayed 1 night and not the whole week, we had several issues including no hot water in our studio, only cold water the tap in the kitchen sprayed water from the base, we had to turn off the water from the mains under the sink, the toilet cistern constantly filled and caused a constant flow into the toilet, and water leaked into the bathroom from the waste drain in the bathroom, the pool was dirty and grimy with a scummy film over the top and quite a few bugs floating in it, the mom and daughter who ran it by theme selves were really nice people and tried hard to please, the water situation could not be resolved until the Monday we checked in on the Saturday, when in the sun all,day and using lotions hot water is needed for washing and showering, my opinion is that this accommodation needed to have opened later with the rooms being properly serviced before paying guests were taken"

"Veronica Studios, Kolios. Avoid t all costs! Veronica Studios, Kolios was not remotely up to the standard expected from Easyjet brochure description. The pool was dirty and the filter was never on, never cleaned or tested in the week we stayed there.We were unable to use the pool due to the dirt insects and foliage floating in it. The apartment had no hairdryer that the brochure included in facilities. Facilities for s/c were below standard expectations, not even a toaster, 2 hotplates only one enormous pan and one small frying pan., no washing up equipment we took our own washing up liquid, tea towels luckily., we had to wash the plates, cups and glasses before use as they were greasy and sticky. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in it sagged to the edges and you could feel the springs of the mattress, this is not good for someone like me who has back problems i had brought my back tablets in case needed but had to take them due to the terrible mattress. We asked for a mattress topper or a quilt we could put on the mattress and were told they didn't have any. We had 1 sheet and a very thin cotton throw which meant we were cold at night and had to sleep in cardigans due to most days being cold/wet and damp weather (I know you can't help the weather). We asked about the aircon to warm the room and were told it was only cold air.We had cold showers most days and when we mentioned there was no hot water were told it was solar powered and as no sun no hot water they said they would put on heater for hot water but we still only had hot water twice in an evening the whole week. Hot water twice in a week is unacceptable, maybe if it was mid summer and 30+ degrees it wouldn't have been to bad but with temperatures around 17/18 degrees it was not acceptable, The shower head holder was also broken so had to hand hold to shower, the soap dispenser? on the wall had green mould? obviously did not use. .The bedding was not changed all week and I don't think the studio was cleaned properly the bed was made twice in a week but not with clean sheets, I had the same pillow case with marks on the whole week so I'm not sure if they thought by making the bed we would think it had been changed? the toilet bin was not even changed everyday which is surely the most basic requirement! We asked for clean towels on day 3 as we had not been able to get them dry the lady (I believe she is the mother) asked us 'why' ?and replaced them reluctantly, day 6 we asked again for clean towels and were told they had none as they hung some out to dry and it rained before they got them in! The bar area was shuttered the whole time and you had to knock on their door if you wanted anything from the bar. Overall if I could give these studios no stars I would, having visited Skiathos twice before and stayed in studios that were cleaned daily, fresh towels and bedding every couple of days with clean pools and an open bar area with friendly helpful staff I can categorically state I wouldn't stay at the Veronica again if you paid me. Every person staying at the same time all complained of the same issues and said they would not return including a guest who had stayed their 3 times previuosly and could not believe how standards had dropped and that they would not return. As for all the reviews praising Veronica studios and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, cleanliness etc I have to question of they are reviewing the same studios I stayed at."
