"I have just returned from a weeklong holiday at the Atrium Prestige, as an all inclusive plus guest with Jet2 Holidays.
Positives
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is set on the side of a hill in the south east of Rhodes and we were taken there by private transfer from Rhodes Airport - took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Upon arrival we were greeted by the night manager (it was about 1am) who offered us a glass of sparkling wine to welcome us to the resort. We were then taken by golf buggy to our rooms, and shown the facilities along the way. As it was a late arrival and the restaurant was closed there was a fresh fruit platter and two cold plates in the room for us to have something to eat.
We had a Platinum Beach Junior Suite with sea view and private pool. It was absolutely stunning. Comfy super king sized bed, huge bathroom with double sinks, shower cubicle and a whirlpool bath with an overhead shower. Bath robes and slippers were provided, along with Bvlgari shampoo etc. There was also a coffee maker with nespresso capsules, ample bottles of water and a complimentary mini bar which was topped up daily.
The hotel and bedrooms were immaculately clean. Cleaning in the bedrooms was twice daily.
There are several a la carte restaurants which require booking through the app, 24 hours in advance. We ate at a couple of them and they were very nice. The main restaurant was buffet style but you could also eat from an a la carte menu that changed nightly. Shout out to Irini who was one of the more senior wating staff in the main restaurant. She was excellent at her job! The food choice here was varied and we all managed to get something at every meal.
The spa is beautiful and my daughter and I had 25 minute back and neck massages that were complimentary to guests in our suite. We didn't use the gym but it looked to be well kitted out and very clean.
There are a couple of table tennis tables and a large chess set which can be used by guests. There was also a pool table which I think cost 2 euro to play. There is also mini golf but we didn't play. There is also a children's club - we were travelling as an adult family so cannot comment on this.
The pool are is lovely with a separate children's pool and sun loungers around the side. Pool towels are provided. There is access to a beach with sun loungers etc too and plenty of people swimming in the sea. Both of these areas have a bar where you can order your drinks from your lounger.
We also hired a car from the desk in the lobby. The guy here (didn't get his name) was fab! Advised us on which roads to use, parking etc and the best time to visit places.
NEGATIVES
I had emailed the hotel in the advance about dietary requirements. On the first evening we had a dinner reservation at the Prestigio Mediterranean restaurant. I asked for gluten free pasta, to be told that I had to order that 24 hours in advance in all of the restaurants! Later, upon speaking to the Guest Relations Manager it turns out that this was not the case. I had to just ask the head waiter in the restaurant and this would be possible. After that, that's exactly what I did. On every occasion that I asked for GF food I was given it without any issue, although on morning had to wait 15 minutes for GF bread at breakfast. One other concern is that there is no GF toaster in the main restaurant (that I was aware of) so if you have coeliacs disease be aware that you will use the same toaster as non-GF bread.
We attended the spa to use the hydrotherapy pool. The girl on reception (didn't get her name) could hardly be bothered with us. No introduction to the spa or facilities, and when we asked how to use something, she said "press the button". We told her we had done that and it wasn't working, to which she said "that's impossible" and walked away!!! Hardly the attitude expected of a spa employee in a resort such as this! The rest of the spa staff were amazing!
At the pool bar one of the glass panels has a huge crack the full length of the glass and isn't taped off - could cause a very serious injury if force was applied to it. On the issue of broken glass, a glass was broken ourside a neighbouring hotel room. This was cleaned up by a member of staff, while being supervised by the head of housekeeping. However, he cleared up the broken glass and left it basically in the flowerbeds outside our room!! When I mentioned this to reception it was cleared up immediately!!
As mentioned in a previous review, the sunbed hoggers exist here too and put their towels down for the day meaning that other guests can't use the beds. By the end of the day there was also a bit of mess around the pool when glasses etc hadn't been removed. There was no issue getting a sunbed at the beach
Finally, and this is not a reflection on the staff or the hotel, this is a hotel that has visitors from all over the world. Not all guests are considerate! We had an incredibly loud and rude family in the room next to us who made it quite unpleasant to sit on our terrace. There's absolutely nothing that a hotel can do about other peoples ignorance though! Similarly, people being loud and obnoxious in the restaurant, standing between tables chatting loudly when people are trying to enjoy their meal, and the guy who thought it was acceptable to smoke a cigar in the bar in the evening :( These are minor irritations though and absolutely not a reflection on the hotel!
Overall, however this is a phenomenal hotel in a beautiful location. Immaculately clean with friendly and helpful staff. I'd return in a second!!"
