"We had an enjoyable stay overall and found the hotel to be modern, clean, and well-maintained. While there were a few issues that prevented it from fully meeting our expectations of a 5-star experience, the staff were excellent and many aspects of the hotel were very good.
Pros:
* Very friendly and helpful reception staff who were always welcoming and smiling
* Good breakfast and dinner options as part of the half-board package
* Beautiful, modern hotel with excellent cleanliness throughout, especially around the pools
* Convenient supermarket located right next door for water, snacks, and essentials
Cons:
* There was a noticeable sewage smell in one area of the hotel
* The air conditioning in our original room did not work properly. Staff were helpful and offered alternative rooms, including an upgraded room with excellent air conditioning, but it was located near a noisier area of the hotel where music continued late into the evening. We ultimately chose to remain in our original room.
* The hotel offers a separate vegan/vegetarian menu, which is great, but there were some inconsistencies. For example, I ordered a pasta dish from the vegan menu and it arrived with a side of Parmesan, despite no mention of lactose/dairy as allergens on this meal from the menu. This personally didnt bother me too much as i no longer eat an exclusively plant based diet, but I would expect better attention to detail from a 5-star hotel, so vegans may wish to double-check ingredients when ordering.
* Rooms near the main pool can be affected by loud evening music, although other areas of the hotel are much quieter (the area we stayed in was very peaceful).
Extras:
* The beach is a 5 minute walk away, but there are much better beaches nearby that can be reached by taxi.
* Services like Uber and Bolt are not available on the island. Local taxis can take some time to arrive, I waited around 35 minutes for a taxi from the hotel to Faliraki. I would recommend booking a taxi at reception for a specific time to avoid the long wait times.
* A return trip via taxi to Rhodes town costs around €90, whereas a return bus trip costs €8. The bus stop (K16) is right outside the hotel (by the supermarket), and takes around 50 minutes to get to town. I have attached a photo of the bus stop and schedule. Most of the buses have air con which is great!
* If you wish to climb the hill right by the hotel, I recommend downloading the AllTrails app, which shows the paths better. Apple maps says a climb to the monastery from the hotel takes around 25 mins (it took me just over an hour). Take plenty of water!"
