"I’m going to give a fair review as up until the end of our visit I was willing to ignore the faults and planned on bringing a large group of family back as I enjoyed it! however our last day really let us down and put us off from returning to dionysos.
The outdoor area of the hotel Including its restaurants is beautiful, the staff are so lovely and attentive and it’s a really lovely vibe. It’s a good location right near the beach and the pool is big.
The accommodation side of the hotel is what really lets it down. We arrived and asked for late check out and was informed we had to wait until check out day to find out if we can. That was okay I understood, we then arrived to our room to find ants around the dresser, again I got rid of them myself and didn’t want to cause a fuss. The walls are paper thin, I could hear basically everything from other guests.. if you understand what I am saying. Again, I let it go because I really don’t enjoy complaining, then the cleaners in the morning are super loud, shouting down the hallways, as lovely as they were it was slightly inconsiderate. Still I did not mention it to the hotel and continued to enjoy myself.
Our last day is really where Dionysos hotel really let us down, we asked about the late check out to be told “no fully booked” I actually checked and there was rooms available (yes a slightly better room than what we had but still a room)
I asked could we not pay to use the unoccupied room as our flight was very late at night and the lady on the desk (blonde hair) actually did try to help us and figure something out for us. I was passed onto her supervisor on the phone who was a very very rude woman who told me “just because there is a room available doesn’t mean we will give it to you for late checkout because they want to sell the room for our sales” I responded by telling her I understand that she isn’t interested in looking after her current guests and it is all about the money. I did not once raise my voice and remained as polite as I could as again, I am not someone who complains I do not enjoy doing so!(By the way the room did not get booked at all that day yes I checked so they actually lost money by not allowing me to book the room for the day) I honestly think because the room was a little more expensive than the one we stayed in they didn’t want us to go there. I even offered to pay more than the late check out fee if that was the issue.
Then, I actually ended up falling and spraining my ankle and passing out (not the hotels fault I missed my footing so I’m not blaming anyone) however I asked the desk for an ice pack and they tried to tell me to go the shop for an ice pack!!! I said do you not have a first aid kit to which they told me to go to the bar for ice. Not once did they ask if I was ok or to even offer to get me ice themselves as I couldn’t walk properly!
I was actually disgusted In the total lack of care to be honest. It feels like they do not value their current guests and for this reason I unfortunately would not recommend staying here. I’m actually sad to be writing this review as if they valued their guests who are paying to be there, it would be a perfect hotel. I completely understand businesses needing to make money however guest experience should be a priority to encourage recommendations & revisits. To the supervisor I spoke with - please work on the way you speak to people!!!!
2 more things, they pretended the card machines weren’t working at the bar then my partner told them he doesn’t have cash and all of a sudden the card machine works! Then we were told we couldn’t have our suitcases in the lounge for 15 mins while we waited for our transfer! The last one about the suitcases isn’t that much of an issue but it just felt a little bit silly.."
