"Hotel was perfect for the price, in a half decent location, the main staff were all lovely and rooms were cleaned regularly- lovely pool and amenities. Comfy beds and plenty of space. However, we had to be silent after 11pm, one of our nights the security guard gave us 5 minutes until we had to be quiet and not even 2 minutes later barged into our room and screamed at us to pack our bags. We were not even allowed to talk at a low volume on our balcony - which was a must to be on since our rooms were boiling since to use the aircon you would have to pay 10 euros a night (says it’s included online). Also had to provide our own toilet paper, the staff had said it was because it was self catering, but then we weren’t allowed our own food and drink by the pool. Their food and drinks are nice however especially for soft drinks there isn’t much of a range and the drinks were pretty spenny."

"Newcastle Apartments enjoys a fantastic location on the edge of Malia Old Town. The property is close enough to all the restaurants, bars, and local attractions to be convenient, yet far enough away to provide a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The charming narrow streets, traditional buildings, and authentic Cretan character make it an ideal base for exploring the area with only a 25 min walk to the beach. The check-in process was straightforward, efficient, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. The hosts were friendly, informative, and happy to answer any questions, making the start of our holiday completely stress-free. For a studio the room was spacious and well laid out, providing plenty of room to relax. Storage was excellent, with ample wardrobe and drawer space to comfortably unpack and settle in, even for a longer stay. The room felt practical, comfortable, and well designed. Cleanliness throughout the property and complex as a whole was exceptional. The apartment was spotless on arrival and maintained to a good standard throughout our stay. The only real negative was that just one toilet roll was supplied for the entire week, so we had to buy our own replacements (€3 for 12 at the local shop). Given the quality of the accommodation, it would be nice to see this included for the duration of guests’ stays. Water pressure was consistently strong, and there was always plenty of hot water available regardless of the time of day. It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big difference when staying away from home. The pool area was clean, inviting, and a great place to spend time during the day. There were always plenty of sunbeds available, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The pool bar offered a good selection of drinks, snacks and a variety of cooked food (breakfast / lunch / dinner) with excellent service that added to the overall enjoyment of the facilities. Overall, Newcastle Apartments exceeded expectations in every area. Combining an excellent location, spacious and clean accommodation, great facilities, and genuinely welcoming hosts, it provided everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Malia Old Town. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area."
