"We recently stayed here on an all-inclusive holiday, and unfortunately came away feeling that this hotel is much closer to a 3-star than a 4-star experience. On the plus side, the transfer from the airport was very reasonable at around an hour, making the journey quick and straightforward.
The biggest disappointment was the all-inclusive package. We were told that our one included à la carte meal for the week could only be at the sushi restaurant, with no alternative offered. Poolside snacks were also extremely limited – just a few bread rolls in the morning and doughnuts or cakes in the afternoon. Pizza was available by the upper pool, but surprisingly this wasn’t included in the all-inclusive package. We were also surprised that bottled water for the room wasn’t included, something we’ve never experienced at a 4-star all-inclusive hotel.
The evening entertainment was also extremely disappointing. On most evenings there was simply a pianist or similar background music for a couple of hours, with very little atmosphere or organised entertainment. The only proper entertainment evening during our stay came with an additional charge of €25 per person, which felt unacceptable when we’d already paid for an all-inclusive holiday.
Our room was cleaned every day, but not particularly thoroughly. The bedding wasn’t changed during our stay despite becoming dirty, and the room itself was very dated, although generally in reasonable condition. The bathroom was particularly tired, with stained grout, rusty sealant around the bath and a stained bathtub. We also found several insects in our room, including in the bed. While we appreciate that insects can be common in warmer countries, having them regularly appear in the room wasn’t what we expected from a 4-star hotel. We even had to block the gaps under the door with tissues to stop ants coming in. Our balcony was also frequently left wet by dirty water draining from the air-conditioning unit, making it unpleasant to use. On the positive side, the air conditioning worked very well and the shower had excellent water pressure.
The buffet restaurant served good quality food, although the selection didn’t change much from day to day. As an English guest, I was genuinely disappointed to be refused a hot drink at lunchtime – I couldn’t even get a cup of tea! The restaurant itself was clean, and the waiting staff were friendly and very efficient. However, it became extremely hot inside as the air conditioning struggled to keep up.
The communal areas of the hotel were kept very clean, and the swimming pools were modern, well maintained and offered absolutely fantastic views. Without doubt, the hotel’s biggest selling point is its elevated position on the hillside, providing stunning panoramic views over the sea.
Guests with accessibility or mobility issues should be aware that there are lots of steep hills and stairs throughout the resort.
There are two lovely beaches within a short walk. We preferred the sandy beach, which was much better for children, while the pebble beach became deep very quickly. The sandy beach also offered excellent value, with two sun loungers and an umbrella costing just €10, and it had a lovely beach snack bar too.
The marina is only around a 10-minute walk away and is well worth visiting, especially in the evening.
Having stayed in many 3 and 4-star hotels over the years, I would honestly rate this hotel as a 3-star property at best. The beautiful location and breathtaking views are its standout feature, but the disappointing all-inclusive offering, poor entertainment, tired accommodation and lack of attention to detail mean it simply doesn’t meet the standard we would expect from a 4-star hotel. Unfortunately, despite the fantastic setting, we wouldn’t choose to return."
