"I have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at Folia Hotel. I spent the first week there with my son aged 17 and the second with my friend. This is the second year staying here as I was so impressed last year I came back. And I’m so pleased I did! This hotel is nothing short of fabulous. Firstly the owners, brothers Giannis and Nikos could not be more helpful and delightful, they go above and beyond to make your stay perfect in every way. Here are the other reasons I love this hotel so much.
* The first thing i notice is how clean and pristine the whole hotel is. It’s immaculate!
* The room we had (same room as last year) is spacious, the beds are so comfortable, the air con works perfectly, the balcony has a sea view. There is a kitchenette area with fridge, kettle, coffee maker, electric hob, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
* The pool area has a relaxed vibe, no small children ensure a peaceful atmosphere with relaxing music playing and sun beds, parasols, tables and chairs to choose from (reserving is not allowed so there was always a bed available for our pool days). Again so clean and beautifully presented.
* The pool bar staff serve drinks all day (until 9pm) and lunch 12-3. The service is superb (special mention to Maria who has been there a number of years and is so lovely). My son ate lunch there a number of days. The food is delicious with good sized portions. The cocktails are always delicious and there is also a good selection of soft drinks, smoothies, milkshakes and tea/coffee.
* Breakfast is available and looks fantastic but we didn’t have breakfast as prefer to eat a little latter in the day.
* The location is a 5 minute walk to the beach where you will pass 2 supermarkets and a 5 minute walk to an area with a selection of beautiful tavernas. I can’t say I have a favourite as all were superb. The hotel is located up a slight hill, nothing too strenuous but may not be suitable for persons with mobility problems.
* The beach at Agia Marina is sandy and the sea gently shelving with life guards on duty. Our favourite beach bar is Sebastian’s as has really comfy loungers. 2 beds and a parasol are free all day if you spend €15 on first order (2 coffees and a delicious fresh (and enough for 2) fruit bowl = €15). The lunches are also delicious here.
* We went on a catamaran cruise with @sailingcruiseschania and got a 10% discount through the hotel. This day was incredible and I thoroughly recommend it.
For the second year I’ve had the most wonderful holiday at Folia Hotel and will (God willing) be returning next year. If you enjoy the small boutique hotel experience in a stunning location with owners/staff that go above and beyond you will not be disappointed staying here.
