"Our stay was slightly disappointing overall, although there were some real positives.
The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the views were stunning.
The pool was lovely and much larger than it appears in the hotel photos, with a pleasant surrounding area, plenty of loungers and day beds, excellent poolside toilets and showers, and a reasonably priced pool bar.
However, we arrived after 11pm on our first night, tired and hungry, but despite being on a half-board package, no food or snack was available. The bar was also closed, although after asking several times, we were eventually able to get a couple of bottled beers to take to our room.
The room was quite small and had several practical issues. The bathroom mirror was too high to use comfortably, there was no plug socket near the main mirror, and the bathroom ventilation left the room feeling damp, with towels not drying properly and allowing bugs free access! A bedside light bulb also went, but despite calling reception in the early evening, we were told it would not be replaced until the following day. Left me without a bedside light for a night which isn't ideal if you need to get up to pop to the loo!
The balcony was disappointing - narrow, plain concrete, with exposed pipework and noise from water drainage above - although the view itself was beautiful. A few flower pots would have greatly enhanced it as an area to relax in.
Breakfast buffet was decent, but dinner buffet was repetitive and disappointing. Drinks, including water, had to be purchased at dinner, and after five nights we chose to eat out for the last 2 night despite dinner being included in our package.
For our final day, we had requested a late check-out on medical grounds due to a late evening flight. Although a room was available, we were told it would cost €30 and the charge could not be waived, which was disappointing compared with other hotels we have stayed at in Greece.
Overall, the hotel had some strong points, especially the pool area, views, cleanliness and friendly staff, but the service and room facilities did not fully meet expectations. The location also felt rather remote for us. We missed having a local seafront village within easy walking distance where we could go for an evening drink, browse a few shops or enjoy a more traditional Greek harbour atmosphere.
We may simply not have found the best nearby area, but the only place we discovered was a strip a few miles away by car, which had shops and a seafront but lacked the relaxed Greek village feel we were hoping for. We drove to Kassiopi several times, around 10 miles away but roughly 40 minutes due to the winding mountain roads, and loved its harbour, tavernas and shops. However, without a car, it would have been much harder to discover and enjoy places like this."
