"If you are looking for a slice of paradise, with unbelievable views, exquisite grounds, 5* service and a varied stay, this is your place to book.
We stayed 6 nights in the Villas, and we had the most gorgeous view of the rolling hills of Mount Athos, with views of the Gulf of Agíou Orous, our own private pool and a gorgeously manicured garden. We celebrated by husbands 40th birthday here, and the team went above and beyond to make it so special. A huge special thanks to Elissavet for planning all the surprises with me and executing them so perfectly - my husband was truly grateful for everything. A beautiful cake prepared by the chef, stunning bouquet of flowers, balloons, and the most delicious canapes in our Villa.
We had a fabulous first dinner at Armyra - a gorgeous Greek restaurant overlapping the shore - for our first night ever in Greece, we truly felt like we arrived in paradise. Fresh seafood is on the menu, reasonable prices - we spent 160 Euros with four dishes and a cocktail each.
Breakfast is a feast for the eyes - everything you would want - and olives in every way you could imagine! A-la-carte options available, and delicious coffee.
A few lunches spent in the Patio Bistro - yummy simple selection. This is the same menu as the in-room dining. A small selection of salads, pastas, sandwiches and main courses. Again reasonable pricing around 80 Euros with a drink - considering there is a food truck on the beach which I imagine would be less (we did not eat there).
Our evenings were spent enjoying the magic of the club grounds. With views of Ammouliani and Drenia Islands, the song of cicadas with the lapping waves below, and the quite hum of happy tummies from the other guests - quite luxury at its finest. The photos of the club grounds on the website really do not capture this, you will be pleasantly surprised.
The Villas pool and spa is a lovely retreat away from the rest of the hotel. we were lucky to spend a few solitary hours here enjoying the infinity pool and jaccuzi with exceptional views. When you make your way down to the Palace pool, there is a lovely sound of laughter coming from the children playing - definitely an oasis for parents - so it is nice to have a quite zone on the beach for those without children or who want a quiet few hours listening to the waves. Each pair of sunbeds comes with a service button and a lovely selection of drinks and beach snacks available - reasonable prices - a glass of white wine around 9 Euros, orange juice around 5 Euros.
We spent our final dinner at Kamares - a must if you stay. Each course was presented absolutely beautifully, not only by the chef, but by the front our house team too. We really had the most magical dinner.
Each evening we were greeted by the unbelievably smiley and happy team. We would book a buggy from our room that would take us down to the main hotel each evening. Every time we were treated like royalty from the guys driving.
All in all, we would highly recommend anyone who wants a bit of peace and quite away from the tourists to stay here. Ouranapoulis is a short 12 minute drive away - the resort also provides a shuttle service in the evening - around 3 times in the evening going into the town, and 3 times a bit later before 10.30pm coming back to the resort. We took taxis as we tend to eat later - but be careful as there are only 2 taxis in the area - cost is around 15 Euros into the town.
A little constructive review is that we weren't explained how to work the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, and after a few disturbances, we spoke the the team and it turned out that it was actually broken. Perhaps something to check before any check-in - it was fixed on our second last day after finding this out, but I think as it is a red light outside the door, when the sunlight hits it you can't see the light on at all - so we were disturbed a few times still thereafter by the housekeeping team.
That being said - this was an unforgettable experience - if you have the opportunity to stay here - don't hesitate. I wish we could remember everyone's names to personally thank everyone, from housekeeping, kitchen teams, chefs, the reception team, the concierge team, the front of house, the groundsmen, drivers and anyone I may have forgotten to mention, that they all were integral to our stay, and will not forget the warmth from everyone.
Thank you - we will be back."
