"My husband and I are regular visitors to Paris. We fell in love with the city a few years ago and make a conscious effort to visit at least once a year. We have only ever stayed in Astotel hotels, primarily Hotel George and Hotel Joke, and have always been incredibly impressed. The rooms are always clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the complimentary daily minibar refills are a fantastic touch. The fridge is also a great size, meaning you can pick up additional drinks from the local shops and keep them cold, which is particularly useful when visiting during the warmer months. We don't usually leave reviews, but this time we genuinely felt compelled to because of the incredible service we received. We had booked a five-night stay at Hotel George for our August trip. Unfortunately, while having dinner just before heading to the airport for our flight home, we received notification that our flight had been cancelled. easyJet offered us accommodation near the airport, but provided very little information about how we would actually get there. Having checked that Hotel George still had availability for the night, we decided to return to the hotel and see if we could extend our stay. We explained the situation to Savouen, who couldn't have been more helpful. He immediately offered us the same room we'd been staying in, which was incredibly reassuring after an already stressful evening. He then very kindly offered us complimentary breakfast the following morning, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The following morning, when we came downstairs to check out and leave our bags, Savouen was back on duty and immediately ushered us into the dining room to enjoy some breakfast. His service throughout the whole experience was genuinely above and beyond what we could have expected. After a very stressful evening, his kindness and helpfulness made a huge difference to us. All of the staff at Hotel George are incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful, but Savouen is an absolute credit to the hotel and to Astotel. We unfortunately didn't catch the name of the younger lady working on reception, but she deserves a mention too. She actually remembered us and knew our names when we arrived, without us having to provide any information. Those little personal touches really do make a difference. Hotel George genuinely feels like a home away from home. The complimentary soft drinks, tea, coffee and snacks available from 2pm are such a lovely benefit and are always greatly appreciated after a day exploring Paris. Thank you to the whole team for making our stays so enjoyable, and especially to Savouen for going above and beyond when we unexpectedly needed a little extra help. "I stayed here with my 18 year old daughter for a weekend in early September. We both liked the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and we loved the free snacks and drinks in the afternoons - it made for a welcoming atmosphere. The room was fine, although the bathroom was a little tired. On the downside, we heard some gurgling in the pipes and something making a funny noise in the bathroom. It was sewage bubbling up into the bath and onto the floor towel placed in there. Very gross, literally poo floating around in our shower/bath. It stopped as quickly as it started so the hotel didn't do anything, but it stopped my daughter from showering whilst we were there (I was hardier!). The coffee at breakfast was terrible, but there was a good range of pastries, bread and cheese etc. Interesting cuisines around the hotel and many places to eat. We really liked the vegetarian lebanese restaurant - La Cantine de Sam. Delicious food for a very reasonable price and the cakes looked amazing. Less impressed by the service at La Padellina, but the food was fine. Lebanese, Ethiopian, Yemeni cuisines as well as Indian and Italian - so much to choose from. Walkable to Montmartre."
