"We stayed for 3 nights in Campanile, our 2nd time using this hotel as a base for our trip to Disney. It is important to recognise that this is a budget hotel, and so it is not at all luxurious, however on the whole we had a good experience and would probably book here again in the future purely to use as a place to sleep.
Positives:
The hotel is really easy to get to from Gare Chessy, with clearly signposted free shuttle buses that run really regularly - every 10-15 mins until 1am. A perk is that Campanile is the first drop-off in the evenings, meaning that you’re the first off the bus after a long day in Disney. The staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant, and were happy to give us any information we required during our stay. Our room was really basic, but clean and with a comfortable bed. We spent very little time around the hotel premises but there was a little farm that would be entertaining for children.
Our room was cleaned every day, with the bed made and clean towels left for us, which was important to us after a long day.
Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, which was fine, and the hotel has complimentary luggage lockers that were very spacious.
Negatives:
Breakfast was fine, with a small selection of pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt and hot food. Personally I felt that the hot food options were poor, with very little choice and often looked a bit unappetising, however I was happy with pastries and fruit every morning, which were always fresh.
Now, as someone who is quite particular about hotels, I’m the first one to say that Hotel Campanile is quite basic, and would benefit from some upgrades which would make the overall stay feel a bit more comfortable. For example, a small kettle in the room would make such a difference, as after a long travel day, paying €7 for a cup of tea just felt a bit unfair.
On this note, I felt that the bar prices were absolutely extortionate, and it was this that annoyed me as I felt that the hotel really took the opportunity to take advantage of the fact that there are no other shops around the local area within walking distance. For example, the little shop in the hotel was selling a pack of water for €10, which felt ridiculous as water is a basic necessity.
The rooms, while in our experience were clean, are quite run down and really need freshening up. There were marks on the walls, our curtains were partly off the runner, and our safe didn’t actually work at all. The carpet also was really tatty and tired. This made the room feel a bit grubby, even though bed linens and towels were spotless.
On the whole, our stay was fine and Campanile did the job as we really only used the hotel to sleep in, however I do think that there are some small changes that could be easily made to ensure a more comfortable stay."
