"We had an extremely great stay at Canopy by Hilton Cannes. The hotel’s location is one of its biggest strengths — it’s right in the heart of Cannes yet sits toward a quieter corner of the city. It’s about a 300–400 m walk from the main square and streets, but that offset was a huge plus: from the hotel you get lovely views of the marina with boats, the old town (Le Suquet), and the beaches beyond. You’re essentially between two amazing areas — walk toward the town center for historic streets and shops, or in the opposite direction for fabulous beaches with beachfront gyms, cafes, and eateries that are far less crowded than the main Croisette strip.
We booked through the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program, reserving a standard room but were happily upgraded to a Deluxe King with Ocean View, which overlooked the sea, marina, beach, and parts of the city — the views were genuinely stunning. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and right from arrival the staff were among the most helpful and friendly we’ve encountered in all our travels across Europe.
Room & Comfort
The room was a good size (not huge, even for a deluxe), but modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. The décor felt chic, contemporary, and just a little bit playful — a refreshing change from guest rooms that all look the same. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom a bit on the compact side but fully functional, and all the tech touches (USB ports, outlets, smart features) were very convenient.
Parking Tip
One small downside: hotel parking was fairly pricey at around €40 per night. A useful pro tip — we found Garage Panitero about 400 m away where overnight parking was roughly €20–€24/night, and even less (~€12) on weekends. Worth considering if you’re driving.
Pool & Spa
The hotel has a spa and pool, though we didn’t use them due to a February stay. Note that the pool access isn’t complimentary outside certain hours — guests are entitled to one free hour in the morning and one in the evening, but otherwise it’s paid entry even for adults and kids. This was a bit surprising since most hotels include pool access with the stay.
Dining – Breakfast & Restaurants
We tried breakfast in a couple of ways:
• Rooftop buffet breakfast at Marea: While the views from Marea Rooftop Restaurant & Cocktail Bar are exceptional — definitely worth visiting even if just for a drink — the buffet breakfast itself was average compared with the price (around €35 per person). There were freshly made omelets and the usual continental offerings (breads, juices, yogurts, a few hot options), but vegetarian choices were limited and it felt a bit underwhelming for the cost.
• À la carte breakfast at Café Crème: This was our favorite breakfast experience at the hotel. The ground floor Café Crème has a more interesting and modern offering with better quality and variety, and ultimately was more reasonable and satisfying than the rooftop buffet. Highly recommend this instead of the buffet.
Pro Tips & Extras
• The hotel offers free water refills — you get a reusable bottle in the room and there’s a water station by the ground floor elevators, which helped us avoid buying bottled water.
• They also provided complimentary bottled water in the mini-fridge and refilled it each day (though we found we didn’t need it with the refill station).
• The staff were extremely kid-friendly and accommodating — we traveled with two young children and they even gave them small stuffed animal gifts, which was a very thoughtful touch.
• There’s a luggage storage room, which was handy on our departure day since we had time to explore Cannes after checking out — they stored our bags (including a stroller) without any hassle.
Overall
We stayed here for five nights and absolutely enjoyed it. We highly recommend Canopy by Hilton Cannes for its unique location, exceptional staff, chic rooms, and the great food at Café Crème — and don’t miss a sunset drink at Marea for the breathtaking views of the Riviera!"
