"Holiday Review 🌴
I very rarely write reviews, but I feel like I need to start, as I rely heavily on reviews when choosing a holiday destination. That being said, I do take some things I read with a pinch of salt.
So, here’s my honest review of the hotel and the area: it was okay, but would I come back? No. There are a number of reasons for this.
Tenerife & the area
I found Tenerife extremely expensive in some aspects, depending on which shops you use. But £25 for two small balls for my 2-year-old twins to play with in the pool? I found that excessive.
Entertainment for children is practically non-existent. We were aware that the hotel itself didn’t offer entertainment because it is an apartment complex, so we weren’t expecting much from the hotel. However, there was also very little happening in the evenings along the strip.
For adults, I’m sure you could find a bar to suit your taste in music, but as a family with young children, we found the evenings quite disappointing.
Food
The food didn’t really overwhelm me. Most meals felt very similar, and surprisingly, my favourite meal was a kebab I had at midnight after a couple of cocktails! 😂
We did, however, have a lovely meal at Tinge of Turmeric, and I had the best cocktail I drank on the island there too, so I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
The hotel
The rooms themselves were nice and clean, and the staff we encountered were pleasant, although we didn’t have a huge amount of interaction with them.
The saltwater pool, however, was horrendous.
It burns your eyes, and if you have even a small cut, it really stings. It also completely changed the colour of our swimwear (see picture).
There were also lots of children struggling in the water, presumably because of the chemicals being used. This really wasn’t something we enjoyed, particularly with two young children.
⚠️ The biggest issue – our suitcases
This is the part of the holiday that has really left a bad taste in my mouth.
We arrived as a family of 8, with 5 of us staying in one room and 3 in another. We initially thought we had to pay to use both safes, so we used just one safe for all of our valuables and personal belongings.
As a family travelling with twin boys who are almost 2 and constantly into mischief, I kept our suitcases out on the spacious balcony, where they were safely out of reach.
We were on the second floor, with no access to the balcony other than through the room itself.
Unfortunately, two out of our three suitcases were broken into while they were on the balcony.
The locks had been smashed open and the broken pieces were left on the balcony.
I didn’t discover this until the day we were leaving, when I started packing our belongings. I know that had this happened at the airport on the way out, I would have noticed the damage when we arrived at our destination, so I am confident that it didn’t happen during the journey out.
What makes this particularly concerning is that, during our stay, I returned to our room on one occasion to find maintenance men on our balcony, telling me they were carrying out garden work.
Given that we were on the second floor and the balcony wasn’t otherwise accessible, this has left me extremely concerned about how someone was able to access our balcony and break into two of our suitcases.
I cannot say for certain who did this, but the fact that maintenance staff had previously accessed our balcony makes me seriously question whether this was connected.
We lost the security of knowing that our belongings were safe in our room, and unfortunately, this is what I will remember most about the hotel.
Overall
The hotel itself was clean, the rooms were nice and the staff were pleasant, but for us, there were simply too many negatives.
❌ Very little for children in the evenings
❌ Expensive in some aspects
❌ Disappointing food overall
❌ Horrible saltwater pool
❌ Our suitcases were broken into while on our balcony
❌ Serious concerns over balcony access by maintenance staff
For a family holiday, particularly with young children, I wouldn’t return to this hotel or area.
I’m sure other people have had a completely different experience, and that’s exactly why I think honest reviews are important. What works for one family might not work for another — but this was our experience."
