"We have stayed many times at other H10 on the island, and we book direct, and in my eyes the rooms are not as good as other H10 privelege rooms. Restricted view for majority of priveledge rooms and looking at a hotel opposite!
Avoid room 794 at all costs. How they class this as privelege is beyond me. If they allocate you this room then refuse. You can’t even see a lateral view of sea due to large palm trees and there is a road that runs by it and a ruin/building site. Room was so dark due to trees. Overall though a good sized room and facilities. We were moved the next day, which sadly ate into one of our 7 holiday days and we couldn’t unpack until we had moved. We had to vacate our old room at noon and the new room was allocated at 3pm. A wasted day hanging around. The room allocated was smaller than first room but it did have a much better lateral sea view and you could actually see and hear the sea.
Bathroom: lovely clean and bright. Shower works well. Lovely bathrobes and slippers as expected in privilege rooms. The room had everything you could need.
Leading upto the rooms the hallway carpet on the 7 floor was stained, dated and overall did not give the impression of privilege. Carpets on other floors were much cleaner and brighter, hopefully they are refurbishing the corridor carpets.
Be aware there is only one small lift to 7 floor which is a bit of a walk from reception. The lift is dated and not like the lovely glass ones which serviced upto 6th floor. This lift is also slow as the other floors can use it too and it seems very strange to have several lifts available for other floors but only one very dated small lift for privilege 7th floor.
Regarding the privilege roof terrace it was different from other H10s we’ve stayed at as it did not have a jacuzzi but did have a shallow infinity pool which went just past your knees. No good for a swim but fabulous view , clean and well maintained. It also didn’t have a shaded indoor area attached to it with TVs with an opportunity to seek shelter easily when you wanted respite from the sun.
Major poor element is the plastic beakers for drinks which is a big downside factor and not very privelege feeling.
The roof bar staff were exceptional, Vincent is especially cheerful and friendly, engaging, but all up on the privilege bar are very polite and friendly and they brought around drinks or light snacks every hour.
The hotel does however have a bonus privilege room downstairs (others have this next to roof terrace) but can get noisy, and full so best avoid peak times, but it did offer drinks in glasses which was a lot nicer and you can help yourself to drinks until late, I think around 11/12pm. Snacks are not as good as other H10 privilege.
WiFi was also sadly hit and miss.
The service and food show/display at the Sakura Teppanyaki was tasty and plentiful with attentive staff. We recommend booking here.
The main buffet breakfast had a good choice but felt maybe some food was cooked in a hurry as a queue at times and was slow. The omelets in a morning were tasty and one of chefs provided friendly service. The room was clean bright and modern with a pleasant outdoor seating area.
One evening we went to the buffet at 8pm and the deserts was down to one or two cakes and had to ask for it be replenished despite they could clearly see it was very low or in some parts none at all!
The La Tosca privilege breakfast wasn’t worth booking nor the wait. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted and shown to table and a further 15 minutes until offered any drinks. Food also took an age to come out and was not worth the wait. Buffet in the main room is much better and the wait staff more attentive. We tried La Tosca in the evening and whilst food was better the service was still slow, despite not being busy nor full, and some staff very grumpy looking. The feeling from the maitre’d was not welcoming at all and the older slower lady taking the orders was very gruff in her manner. However a few staff really stood out to us, who smiled and tried to interact, were Victor and fabuolia (unsure how spelt).
We choose in the end to eat out majority of the evenings.
The entertainment was ok on a few evenings however would say it was not great. For carnival time there was a great parade of drum’s and dancers and the hotel featured displays in and around reception.
The privilege pools and the areas around them are very clean and well maintained. They both boast fabulous views and overall the outside areas are clean with lovely planting. Very comfortable sunbeds.
The general pool areas and children’s pools also looked clean and plenty of sunbeds.
In summary it was a nice stay but we prefer other H10 nearby privilege rooms, and most of their facilities, as the feeling of this hotel in the corridors is dated and dark terracotta walls, and things were good but not great but it is a lovely clean hotel and the views are great. It was also an excellent location with picturesque walks into Costa Adeje or Caletta.
One major gripe on checkout our bill had items on around £45 that were not ours saying we had drinks at pool bar! We advised we had never been to pool bar and only used privilege bars (included) and we were also charged for drinks in Teppanyaki but again we didn’t have any drinks barring water as we’re unwell, so expected a £2.80 charge for water, as we were booked as a group, prior to arriving, and they were all inclusive so there should have been nothing bar our water. The receptionist argued, quite abrupt, for 10 minutes and in the end we just paid but not happy on principle and it’s clearly for someone else’s room."
