"Stay 19/12/25 to 02/01:26
We visited this hotel several years earlier, which I wrote a review about. So we decided to return to see if things might of improved as are first visit wasn’t the best.
THE HOTEL
The hotel itself is well presented and clean and tidy. Maintenance work was happening as they were grouting tiles in the pool area for a couple of days but created no noise and no inconvenience. Since my last visit the hotel has added a sky lounge for adults only with hot tub and a discreet nudist area for sun bathers. This for me was a good addition.
CHECK IN
Check in was easy and when my name was entered on the system they knew I had been here before. As we arrived before 3pm our room was not ready. We were giving are wristbands so we were able to get food and drink in the meantime..on entering are room there was a complementary plate of mixed fruit left a nice welcome I thought.
THE ROOM
Our room was in the main part of the hotel on the 4th floor and one end which we thought would be quiet But it turned out to be where the alcoholic and youths gathered in the early hours to drink and party, As this was not in the hotel grounds but outside there was nothing the hotel could do. The shower in the room was rubbish between 4 and 6pm it was impossible to shower as there was no water pressure and no hot water..
THE RESTAURANT
The restaurant was one of my major core for criticism on my last visit. Had it improved? Yes and no! The Waiting on staff were better mannered but the food is still hit and miss. I know on a 14 Nts the food will be repetitive, but you also expect it to be cooked and hot. After doing a great gala Christmas dinner, I’m was totally disappointed with the breakfast the following morning, sausages hash browns were raw with the beans cold totally not acceptable which continued with the food the rest of the day.
SNACK BAR
Another one of my criticisms last time, but this is a far better area now .were the food is cooked fresh and even to order. There is also more variety and prepared food is store. In warm cabinets.
THE POOLS
There are four pools, two in the main part of the hotel which are cold one more than the other. And two kids fun pools In the annexe
which are cold. There are plenty of sun beds but some were broke and really need replacing as some days it started to be an early challenge for sun beds even though the area is barriers off till 9-30 but not inforced, there is an on duty lifeguard in the main pool area at pool times..
THE ENTERTAINMENT
Another area of my criticisms on my last visit, had it improved? No it was actually worse. Even though the daytime program was a massive improvement the night time was a shambles as it was badly organised and presented. The cabaret room at first only had one speaker which made the acoustic of the room sound awful and at one end you could hardly hear anything. I mentioned this to the entertainment team and it wasn’t sorted until new year eve for the singer but when the DJ plug into the system it was only working again on one speaker as it most of been a bad lead I told the entertainment staff but he couldn’t do anything, which made the music played sounded awful. Also there was no disco lighting system which would have been better. I went elsewhere to celebrate my new year as the hotels was a disappointment. Professional entertainment was below par and sub standard for a 4 star hotel. The black and white bar which is like a sports bar shows sporting events from the past, don’t expect to see any premier league football matches live..
THE SKY LOUNGE
As I mentioned earlier this is a great addition. A quite small area for adults only on the roof and it’s a sun trap, with a self service beer wines and soft drinks .
SUMMARY
In my opinion this hotel isn’t 4 star I’ve been very honest in my account. Even though there has been improvements in some aspects, other areas have gone backwards. My stay was basically just ok and on that basis I can never see myself returning again. I wanted this stay to be so much better than my first but I was left disappointed"
