"We have just returned from a 10-day stay at this wonderful hotel. Really don't know where to start. We arrived around 12.30pm and were greeted by Marion who checked us in and directed us to our room, which was brilliant, as we didn't expect to be able to get into the room until 3pm. Natalia on reception in the evening was so helpful and friendly. We were greeted by the lovely Ferron and served by Adara. Our first evening meal was lovely, choice of salad, soup and hot food, plenty for all tastes and this continued throughout our stay, again at breakfast, there was plenty of choice. During the course of the week, we were also served by Joe, Charlie, Victor, Albert, Rosana, Abel. Don't think any of the staff stopped smiling the whole time we were there, and the smiles were genuine, not just for the guests. It was like one big family all working at the same place! The hotel was absolutely spotlessly clean, the staff who cleaned were incredible, it is a thankless task when guests return from the beach, us included, bringing tons of sand back with them, but there was never any sand or dirt of any description on the floor and the rooms were cleaned every day. Again, nothing was too much trouble and they were politeness personified. The pool bar area was again spotlessly clean; the food is very reasonable priced and plenty of it! As we sat there, we were visited by two pigeons, one had an injured leg and we think the guests felt sorry for it, as it was considerably larger than the other one! The drinks again were not overly expensive as this can happen in some resorts. Outside, there were plenty of cafes and restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and gift shops, all around the area of the beach. The beach was clean, the sea was stunning and as we went into the sea, there were millions of tiny fish swimming around our feet, some areas of the beach were quite rocky and uneven, which may be a problem for someone with mobility issues, but there are areas which are very flat as well. Overall, if it was possible to give this hotel and staff 20, we would not hesitate; felt quite emotional on Tuesday when we left, it felt like we were leaving good friends behind. We will definitely be back next year."

"We've stayed at the Xaloc several times over about ten years, first as a one night stay as backpackers walking the Cami de Cavalls (which goes straight past it). We love this hotel; it's excellent value, it's right on the beach, is spotless, has lovely gardens and pool area, it's quiet, and more than anything, the staff are a delight; kind, thoughtful, welcoming and caring. To everyone including Febran, Andana, Joe, Charlie and Rosana (and the chefs) a big, big, thanks. Dinner is excellent value with salads, soups, cheese, desserts, fruit and about eight hot courses (I ate fish for seven nights and it was always excellent). Buffet breakfasts have everything you'd want. There's a bus stop into Mao just outside and you can get the tourist train to Binibeca, or walk along the Cami (recommended). Also, turn left along the coast (East) and walk to the next cove and have a drink at the Hotel Xuroy, right on the beach. Seeing a full red moon rise over the horizon just made our week. "Very friendly and helpful staff, ordered a fridge which was delivered to our room within minutes, was also loaned a kettle by reception. Room was spotless and was cleaned every day. We was half board, breakfast and dinner was buffet style with plenty of choice, the hot food was always hot, lovely salads if you wanted cold, delicious pastries and deserts. The pool and surrounding area is beautiful, always got a sunbed so no need to reserve. Was entertainment a few evenings in the week which was enjoyable. Reception also arranged car hire for us as well which meant we was able to explore the whole island. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and we used that to go to Mahón one day. Nearby there are a few restaurants and supermarkets, we did eat out a couple of times just to have a break from the hotel. The beach is directly opposite the front of the hotel, the hotel has a supply of parasols which you are allowed to borrow to use on it. At lunchtime the pool bar provides a good variety of food, the portions are very generous and well priced."
