"⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4/5
We stayed here for 11 nights and overall had a really enjoyable holiday. The apartments were clean and when housekeeping came, the cleaning was done to a very high standard. Towels were changed every three days, although the beds weren’t changed until day nine, which felt a little too long between changes.
The pool area is one of the hotel’s biggest positives. There were always plenty of sunbeds available, so there was never any need to rush down early or compete for a spot as you often do at other resorts.
The self-catering facilities were excellent. The apartment had a three-ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, and, best of all, an oven. Having an oven felt like a luxury and made meal preparation much easier than on previous holidays.
Our apartment was located behind the supermarket, which meant we were away from the noise around the pool area. We did experience some disturbance on two evenings from locals playing loud music on the steps outside, but otherwise it was peaceful. We also lost power one morning due to a local outage, but this was not the hotel’s fault and was resolved within a couple of hours.
The soft play area was fantastic for children. Although it is quite small, it kept our children (aged 6 and 8) entertained in the evenings while we relaxed with a drink nearby.
The location is great. The bus stop is right by the pool area, with a bus to Ciutadella arriving at around 20 minutes past each hour. The journey takes about 15 minutes and cost us around €3.70 each way for an adult and child, making it much cheaper than a taxi. We also hired a car and found there was plenty of parking outside the apartments.
The sunsets are absolutely stunning. The local supermarket is convenient but quite expensive compared to where the locals shop. We visited the Friday market, which was fairly small, but the town itself is beautiful and well worth exploring.
Now for the main negative. We travelled with children and love seeing them enjoy the pool. Before arriving, I had read reviews mentioning local Spanish families using the pool at weekends and evenings and assumed it was mostly people without children complaining. However, after experiencing it ourselves, I understand the concerns.
On some days the pool became extremely crowded, with large groups of local children using it. One afternoon I counted around 35 children in the pool, making it difficult for guests to use safely. There is no lifeguard, and children were running around, jumping in, and generally creating a chaotic environment. My son was unfortunately injured after slipping in the soft play area, where children were entering directly from the pool with wet feet despite the stated rules. Thankfully he only suffered a bad bruise, but it was a worrying end to our holiday.
I don’t blame the local families for wanting to use the facilities, especially during the summer heat, and if I lived nearby I would probably do the same. However, I do feel management needs to address the situation. A lifeguard or better supervision would greatly improve safety and ensure pool rules are followed. Signs stating “no floats” and “no balls” were largely ignored throughout our stay.
Despite this issue, I really liked the hotel. The area is quiet, family-friendly, and has enough to keep children entertained with the pool and soft play. The nearby pharmacy, doctor’s surgery, and hospital (about a 10-minute drive away) also provide reassurance for families.
Would I stay here again? Yes, absolutely. We had a lovely holiday and would happily return. If management improved supervision around the pool, this would easily be a 5-star stay. For now, I’m giving it 4 stars because the pool situation is the one issue that consistently lets an otherwise excellent family holiday destination down."
