"Just returned from a five-night stay as a family of four (our boys are 6 and 18) and am generally happy to recommend this place, or at least give a positive review if asked.
We had a one-bedroom suite on a self-catering basis and it was perfect for our needs. Our boys were in the lounge on single beds and it was surprisingly spacious. (Credit to the cleaning staff for putting the pull-out bed together properly for us; it’s not just a mattress on the floor!) Large shower room with two washbasins outside it. Small kitchenette with some basic pots, pans, cutlery, plates, cups, etc. No bowls though, which is a little odd, especially for self-catering. I got some from the restaurant, but the cleaners removed them, quite frustrating as it meant that we had to have our morning cereal out of cups or a large salad dish.
Being self-catering, we didn’t have breakfast (but it looked like a very good spread). We ate in both pool bars a couple of times, and they were both good. We used the buffet restaurant a couple of evenings, it was very good and competitively priced at €27pp (children half price). Drinks were of a high standard too, not much of a beer selection but a decent amount of wine to choose from, and the cocktails were surprisingly good for an AI hotel.
All internal areas had a high-quality / luxury feel to them, and the staff were all happy and helpful.
Outdoor areas are good too. The composite decking around the main pool areas is good because it’s not slippery at all when wet; however, it does need urgently replacing in many places as it’s bowing and uneven (one of the entertainment team injured themselves quite badly falling through it one morning!)
It gets quite busy in the main pools, but this hotel’s process for dealing with people reserving beds works really well (if your stuff is left unattended for more than 40 mins, it is moved and the beds are freed up), so even for a family of four, we never had a problem finding beds together. The adults-only pool is a lovely little oasis of calm too. Access to the beach is great, but you already know that if you’re looking at this hotel.
Directly outside the hotel is a supermarket; the ones a bit further down the road (<5 min walk) seemed to be a little cheaper and don’t charge extra for drinks out of the fridge.
There are no bars close to the hotel, but there are a couple of restaurants and there’s a bus stop <5 min walk away, so you can easily get to Alcudia or Can Picafort and back without having to get cabs; they run every 10-15 mins so it’s easy to eat out if you want to.
All in all, on the assumption that they sort the decking out, I would happily recommend this place for families of any age. Will probably return to the area at some point and would definitely consider staying here again if / when we do."
