"An honest and fair review from a family holiday who was panicking before I came reading all the reviews haha!
So first off I’d say DONT PANIC. Some of the reviews are really unfair.
We are here with our toddler (21m) and other family members too.
So first up, rooms are really clean. Maids in daily. Towels replaced if needed. Lots of wardrobe space, lots of surface space in the bathroom too for all your makeup and skincare! There is a safe in the wardrobe but we haven’t used it.
Aircon is poor, it does its job but only just- it is manageable though.
There’s a lot of negative reviews about the food- this makes me think some people aren’t used to an all inclusive buffet that isn’t 5*!
There’s a lot of choice, food is hot and fresh and frequently replenished.
One HUGE thing for us regarding food is the allergen information is really poor. Our toddler has a dairy, soya and egg allergy and although SOME of the food has allergen cards above them- the symbols are really hard to make out what they are (I’m still yet to figure out which symbol means soya) and when you ask staff they don’t understand what you mean.
A lot of the foods - IE where multiple types of crackers are, have no allergen information whatsoever. It’s really hard trying to manage allergies when you don’t know what foods contain them!
As well as this, I think a lot of the allergen cards are incorrect- for example the rice pudding stated it had no allergens, yet a basic tomato pasta sauce allegedly had dairy in it. A minefield if I’m honest and based on the allergen issues alone I wouldn’t return to this hotel. If you’re in this situation to I’d advise bringing food of your own- we brought a load of suitable snacks and I’m so pleased we did.
The pool is very busy! And full of lilos and other inflatables so not a lot of space if you like to actually swim but perfectly fine for playing in the pool with children. GET UP AND GET YOUR TOWELS DOWN THOUGH! Pool area gets cleaned in the mornings and then people start putting their towels down around 6.45am onwards. Come 8am there isn’t many beds left (saying that though we are here in the height of summer it might get better later on)
The pool area is clean and the pool filters must be doing overtime as the pool always seems really clean despite how many people are in it.
The children’s splash pool is a bit rubbish - no slide (although some photos show there is one) just a tipping coconut and a bird squirting water out its mouth! It is clean though and I suppose an area to get away from the main pool.
What did make me laugh though is the lifeguard sits that far away from the pool she’s practically outside of the building haha! She definitely doesn’t have view of the whole pool- it would be impossible from where she’s sat.
Now the pool bar. Completely annoying and feels almost deliberate so you can’t fully enjoy your all inclusive. I don’t drink alcohol but could I be bothered to stand in a huge queue multiple times a day for a Pepsi Max? Nopeeee. No other bars are open during the day and they often only have one person serving. You can also only get 2 drinks at a time so that’s a lot of visits if you want to get your moneys worth.
Besides the bar they have a water machine which is accessible for all and it’s lovely and freezing cold - I brought my Stanley cup so just filled it there multiple times a day rather than queueing for a soft drink.
Next to the pool bar they have the bar snacks- other reviews make out as though the birds are munching down on food people are about to eat which is entirely inaccurate! The food is enclosed behind sliding doors and although their are loads of birds in the area sat on tables eating peoples leftovers who couldn’t be bothered to put them in the bin, they definitely aren’t touching the fresh food. Talking of the fresh food, the pizzas are beautiful! Cooked in a pizza oven, super fresh and so tasty! There’s also salad, hot dogs, burgers, fruit and desserts in the snack bar.
The lift situation is dreadful as the other reviews have said. There’s 2 lifts for the whole building and they allegedly fit 4 people but that’s if they’re 4 children! It can fit 3 adults at a push. Throughout our week one of the lifts kept breaking so there was ONE lift for the whole building- I mean there’s seven floors!! How insane.
I can’t really comment on the entertainment as our toddler was ready for bed every night but we did see a couple of mini discos which was lovely for the little ones. All of the entertainment is indoors on a nighttime - allegedly due to noise complaints from neighbours as the surrounding buildings are residential.
There’s things going on daily such as water aerobics/water polo/darts and the entertainment staff seem really nice and engaging.
I’ve seen a lot of negative comments about the hotel staff- truthfully there’s only been one man who looked completely put out being here- the rest were really friendly and always made a fuss of our little one.
The location of the hotel is perfect, 2 minute walk from the beach (if that) and also from the bars and shops along the beach front. There’s a shop around a 1 minute walk away for all your holiday crisps, lilos, etc!
Reception in the hotel is lovely and cool - seemingly with excellent air con but the rest of the building is really hot - it seems air con is no where else? The restaurant, pool access and entertainment is all on the floor below reception.
I think I’ve covered everything! I don’t believe this hotel should be 4*, more so 3* but if you’re used to that and are looking for somewhere clean, well located with decent food this place will be absolutely fine for you!"
