"We’re currently staying at Apartments Parque Tropical in Lanzarote and have had a really enjoyable experience so far.
Our room is a lovely, spacious one-bedroom apartment, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that it has air conditioning, as we were told at the time of booking that this wouldn’t be included. That was a great bonus, although we’re not sure if all one-bedroom apartments have this.
The highlight of our stay has definitely been the pool area and pool bar. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the pool bar is serviced by Nico’s restaurant just outside the front of the hotel. The barman at the pool bar deserves a special mention — he is incredibly friendly and welcoming to everyone. Every beer is served in a frozen glass, which makes it extra refreshing and is something we really appreciated.
Another great touch at the pool bar is the TV with Sky Sports, which makes it a perfect spot to catch live football matches or other sports. The atmosphere is ideal — not too loud, just relaxed and enjoyable while watching the game. The cocktails are also very well made, matching Irish tastes and standards.
The complex has two pools, which is a great feature. The smaller upper pool ranges from 0.5m to 1.5m deep, making it ideal for children or those who are not confident swimmers. The larger pool by the pool bar is much deeper, reaching up to 2m, with most of it at that depth, so it’s great for proper swimming. Another big advantage is that the pool area is well sheltered from the strong winds Lanzarote can sometimes get, as all the apartments surround it. This means it stays sunny and comfortable, with very little wind — usually just a light breeze that’s perfect for cooling down on a hot day. The pool is also heated, and as I’m writing this it’s sitting at a very comfortable 25.1°C.
The food from Nico’s is also very reasonably priced and caters well to Irish tastes, with options like baguettes, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, burgers, and a full Irish breakfast. The snack bar is excellent value, with nothing on the menu exceeding €10, and all meals are served with chips. The full Irish breakfast in particular is great value at just €4.95. On Sundays, they also offer a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings, which is well worth trying.
A really convenient bonus is that the HiperDino supermarket is just a 20-second walk from reception. It’s a great Spanish supermarket where you can pick up everything you need, including water, groceries, and freshly made breads, rolls, and baguettes daily.
A really unique and memorable extra was the wild parrots in the trees around the hotel. If you pick up a €1 bag of monkey nuts from the nearby shop, you can hold one out in your hand and the parrots will come down to take it — a very entertaining and special experience.
As I’m writing this, the air temperature is a very pleasant 27°C on the 21st of April 2026, which just adds to the overall experience.
We have been converted from the plus Fariones appartments that have always been our go to for years. 2 minute walk to the middle of the strip, with some small but great Irish bars next door
Overall, a very enjoyable stay with great amenities, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service throughout."
