"We booked this holiday a year ago and, before travelling, we saw a mix of reviews. We did our research and decided to go with an open mind. We were aware beforehand that there was no entertainment or air conditioning, but we wanted a relaxing girls’ trip, so neither of those things really bothered us. We were a little worried about the lack of air conditioning, but honestly, we didn’t need to be.
The apartments are in the perfect location – around a 3-minute walk to the main strip and about 5 minutes to the beach.
Check-in: Smooth and easy. We had an early flight, landed in Lanzarote at 11am, and arrived at the apartments around midday. Monica was on reception and she was an absolute angel. My friend and I hadn’t slept, and she managed to get our room ready for 1:30pm instead of the usual 3pm check-in. While we waited, she gave us our all-inclusive wristbands so we could enjoy some food and drinks before heading to our room. Such a lovely start to the holiday.
The room: Spacious, clean, and the beds were super comfortable. We didn’t see any bugs or have any issues during our stay. The room was cleaned every other day, usually around 2–3pm. We were always by the pool or out exploring, so it was lovely coming back to a fresh, clean room.
Pool & Bar: The pool area was always clean (apart from when the wind blew everyone’s cups over 🤣). We never had to get up 7am to reserve a sunbed. We’d have breakfast around 8:30am and always found loungers easily. Even on the days we went out exploring and came back later, there were still sunbeds available for both of us. The main pool is a great size and fairly deep, with a middle section you can swim to and relax on. There’s also a smaller, shallow pool in the corner.
The bar was great too. They served pre-made cocktails along with the usual spirits, wine and beer. You can pay extra for branded alcohol, but we didn’t feel the need to.
Food: We genuinely enjoyed the food. It was never cold - I think some people expect food to be piping hot, which isn’t always realistic with a buffet. I never struggled to find something to eat at breakfast, lunch or dinner. I eat fish and my friend doesn’t, yet we both found plenty of choice every day.
A few other things: We honestly didn’t miss having air conditioning. In fact, it’s probably the first holiday we’ve come home from without feeling ill from constantly going between freezing cold rooms and the heat outside! The rooms have huge windows that let plenty of fresh air through. We hired a fan because the windows are low to the ground and we preferred to keep them closed at night. It cost €26, with a €5 deposit that we got back. We also hired a safe for €21, which is pretty standard in a lot of hotels, so that wasn’t an issue. We didn’t use the Wi-Fi because our mobile data worked perfectly.
Overall, I genuinely can’t understand why this place gets so many bad reviews based on our experience. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and incredibly hard-working. The hotel was clean and well looked after, and the atmosphere was lovely.
As two women travelling together, we felt completely safe throughout our stay.
We were lucky enough to have a pool and sea view room, and we would 100% come back. We had such a lovely holiday. We also loved the bazaar across the road and the SPAR nearby - everything we needed was within easy walking distance.
Thank you for a fantastic stay!"
