BLUESEA Playa Club

"Have just returned from a 7 day stay at Blue Sea playa club. Room was nice and cleaned well the 2x it was cleaned while we were there. Pool bar staff are lovely and drinks/food are decent. The lifeguard… where do I start. We arrived Sunday evening, spent all day Monday and most of Tuesday at the pool with no issue. Wednesday rolls around and the lifeguard decided that my almost 6 year old wasn’t allowed in the main pool without an adult despite having already spent 2 days there and he didn’t say anything. He made rules up on a day-to-day basis, including no longer allowing floats and balls in the pool. Everyone was basically expected to just get in the water and bob around aimlessly. No fun will be had on his watch. At one point he stood at the side of the pool for a solid 5-10 minutes staring at kids, one of which was in the water with her parents. My 5 year old came and told us he was staring at her and she ended up scared to do anything at the pool in case he shouted at her again. The family in the pool with their child ended up leaving the pool area all together. The weekend life guard takes your towels off the beds if you even so much as go for lunch so don’t dare move or you will lose your bed. There are 3 parasols available for the whole main pool - one is for the lifeguard. We travelled with my 14 month old and had no parasol for covering her. There are 4 or 5 at the baby pool (the most shaded area ironically) which can’t be moved whatsoever as they are stuck into the ground. All in all, the room was nice and the pool bar was nice. It’s in a fantastic location also. The pool experience ruins it."

"This was my second stay at this hotel and I was pleased to see the rooms had all been nicely updated since my last visit in 2020. This hotel is in a fantastic location if you're looking for clean, good value accommodation close to all the action on the "Strip" and only a 5 minute walk to a lovely beach cove where you can swim. There is a small, well stocked Dino supermarket tucked under the hotel, accessible from a door near the pool area - very convenient. We didn't use the pool as we prefer the nearby beach. The pool was busy with families enjoying themselves. The pool area is pleasant, very well kept and clean. Our room overlooked a peaceful, lovely grassed garden area with palm trees and parakeets. This was mainly used by adults reading and sunbathing or seeking shade. One negative here was the usual sunbed shortage & guests leaving towels on them to reserve, even though they weren't around. The staff are efficient, the cleaners do a fab job and are very friendly and helpful. The gardens are very pleasant with beautiful plants. Our one bed apartment was spacious with everything needed for basic self catering, if required. The bed linen and towels were refreshed every two or three days and beds made up which is always a nice treat. The twin beds were very comfortable, which is a massive plus. There is good air conditioning in the lounge only, which does help cool the bedroom too, but we only needed it a couple of evenings and not during the night. I did get bitten by a few midges at night so I kept the bedroom window closed throughout the day and night and that solved the issue. I would recommend this hotel for young families, groups of friends wanting to be near all the bars shops and restaurants, and couples who aren't looking for a peaceful pool experience. It may be quieter in Winter months during Term time, it was a lot quieter in Feb/ March when I visited previously; however I have found outdoor pools in Lanzarote are not generally heated so the water can be very "fresh" in Winter. Overall choose this hotel for location, cleanliness, good quality of accommodation, and convenience. I would definitely stay here again."

"The area is amazing I have to admit but there is flaws to this hotel, one being the cleanliness as the cleaners do come in and clean but there is still dirt and dust all over the floors of the apartment and the other flaw is the amazing, beautiful pool that you can never get a sun bed next to because people reserve them over night and throughout the whole day without even showing up and the life guard allows it. When I have my younger sister with me who wants to be by the pool and everything it's so annoying and infuriating that beds are saved without even being there and I believe the hotel shouldn't allow it ."
