"I just spent 6 days here with my husband, 5yo son and 2yo daughter and I cannot praise the hotel and the staff enough, it was truly wonderful.
Short version:
- Super staff - always friendly and attentive
- Beautfiul luxurious hotel, the building, decor, grounds, it was absolutely gorgeous
- Fantastic food and great variety
- HEATED pool with fab waterslides
- Excellent location - 10 mins from airport but not under flight path, so no plane noise. Also right next to the beach and promenade
- Exemplary cleanliness, l'Occitane hand soap in the restrooms
We also found it wasn't too busy, we never had to wait for a table at dinnner or rush to get a sun lounger, there was plenty of space for everybody.
Longer version:
The hotel has recently been renovated and I just loved how it's been done. There's a hotel tour on Monday mornings which sadly we missed as we were checking out, but I'd have loved to hear about the history - perhaps an excuse to return! The lofty ceilings and tall palms, magnificent central staircase and colonial accents, together with multiple seating areas dotted around gave it private members club vibe and reminded me of old buildings in Hong Kong. I have say, the photos online really don't do it justice, it looks quite basic from some of the pictues but it's actually beautiful. Just goes to show how different things can be in real life.
The staff were absolutely amazing, we were always served with a smile, never made to feel we were any bother.
The rooms were spotless (as was everywhere, I never saw any dirt or anything out of place), nicely decorated, extemely comfortable. We stuggled to access Netflix one evening but a call to the front desk had that sorted in no time, and this was the only issue we had the entire stay so that shows how well run and maintained it is.
The pool areas are lovely, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, there was gentle ambient music at Pepe's Shack but you'd barely notice it, it wasn't remotely irritating. The flooring by the pool is non-slip, there was no issue with my children hopping out the pool and rushing back to the waterslides. It's not the most comfortable to walk on but it's fine, and much better than slippery tiles. The main pool was really quite chilly, we went there the first afternoon, but then on day 2 we found the children's area and that big pool was gloriously heated :-)
There was a playground and baby splash park area, which I excpected my 2yo to be in constantly but she just wanted the big pool in the end. Those areas looked pristine though and ideal for babies/toddlers.
There's a gym, I didn't use it - I was on holiday and got plenty of exercise running around after my children! But it looked decent enough for those seeking a workout to burn off the amazing homemade ice cream and fresh burgers. Protein smoothies availble in Milk Lab too if you're looking for a protein top up without packing your supplements.
The All Inclusive package was super, we never struggled for choice (both healthy options and less-so, all fresh and great quality), the meal times worked for us and we only occasionally wanted snacks in between - these were easy to obtain when wanted from Pepe's Shack or the Milk Lab. Milk Lab is very cool - Ibiza beach club feel, but calm.
In the evenings we usually went to the main bar for the mini-disco - I am normally averse to such things but the children loved it and it was very well done. They could get face paint/"tattoos" before the disco started and the animation team did a really good job of it, they really had their little crowd going each night.
Then the main entertainment, again not usually my thing, was mostly really good.
For a more gentle atmosphere, the Piano Bar in the main lobby had piano music each evening and was a nice calm spot for grown ups. It also has a lovely balcony with nice lighting, I'd have enjoyed a cocktail or glass of bubbly there had we gone wihtout the children. Another reason to return!
We had the best holiday, it all felt a real treat, and I cannot thank teh staff enough. I very much hope to go back soon (I could jsut do with the flight being shorter or my children being older!)"
