"The hotel its self appears fresh, bright and clean looking.
We arrived late and was given a packed lunch.
Cleanliness
The next morning I went around with my son there was dirty glasses in the lobby and lounge, food, wrappers, spilt drinks all over. The cleaners had just started their shift but this was pretty much my first impression!
Every morning was like this unfortunately.
The cleaners are scrubbing the lobby beds which are cream but are already stained heavily and they even said they need a machine.
Pool
The pool doesnt have a hand rail and many elderly people struggled getting in and out. There's a large step after the shallow end again not clearly visible.
Both pools, a side was broken on our stay. They attempted to fix one side at 9.40am with the pool full of water, cementing the edging on. They cornered it off with a sun lounger.
The pool opened and it was full of people. The side fell off! They was shovelling arm fulls of cement out of the pool. The cement was clearly seeping into the pool going cloudy.
No evacuation. It wasn't until people made a fuss they actually hoovered the pool. Anyway they fixed it over night in the end. Some of the flooring in pools was rough. The pool was warm!
Kids club
We took our son just for the air con mid afternoon on the first day and it is a lovely area. He asked to stay. It had a monitor at certain times.
One day the times were on the door but the man was like I could leave in 1 minute, 5 minute who knows. Not sure if he was trying to be funny.
Entertainment
The day time entertainment was good. There was aqua gym and Andrian was fantastic at this. Water volley was also fun to watch.
They did other things like darts and shuttle board.
The timetable did change whilst we was there and there was things that was on there and never happened. Such as the water carpet, and the VR experience was ment to come back on the Thursday and it didn't. The evening entertainment did let it down. The kids disco was fun and again Adrian 100% top class for the kids. But after that not much, one night a quiz, movie night, kareoke. The best been the acrobat show! We did go out most evenings.
Bars
Unfortunately again not a good point at all.
The pool bar, long ques all day even when you want water and soft drinks waiting over 10 mins.
No service with a smile, I understand its hot and they work long days.
The snacks soon as it was replenished people was like vultures and it was all gone again.
Evening bar
One night I got a pinoclada and it was off I looked around and everyone had left them. Staff dont talk or acknowledge you. Staff get waylayed and serve someone else, forget what you've ordered and go and do soemthing else. Evenings I was waiting up to 25 minutes for drinks.
Nobody cleaned up after themselves and I think a token system would work well for this. Again self serve soft drinks would also help with waiting times.
Food
There wasnt much choice compared to other places iv been to. But food was nice.
I did witness a waitress pick up a pair of tongs off the floor and put them back on the buffet and then again a bread roll. Again no relationship with customers and no interaction from staff.
Breakfast was very busy and over whelming at 9.30 struggling to get a table.
Bedroom
Finished to a poor standard in the bathroom grout was quite funny to look at like a 2 year old had done it. The balcony again had paint all over it. Storage was an issue mostly for my wife with hair and make up items maybe a few shelves would of helped.
The lobby staff are the most friendly and helpful people.
The kids seemed to love the spinning/ rocking chairs.
Overall even though theres negative points this is more to the fact its newly renovated and opened in peak season advertised as a 4 star. We had a lovely 6 night stay as a family and we made it our own holiday.
On the final morning whilst checking out with the coach 20 minutes to picking us up we couldn't get in the safe and a man came with hundreds of keys to have to try them all. So just becarful."
