"I recently stayed at Amàre Beach Hotel Ibiza and, overall, had a good holiday. There are definitely plenty of positives, but it wasn’t quite the relaxing, chilled experience I had hoped for.
The hotel itself is modern, stylish and exceptionally clean throughout. My bedroom was very comfortable, with a great bed, excellent air conditioning and impressive soundproofing, so I always slept well. The shower-in-the-room arrangement is strange though and not something I’d have been comfortable with had I been sharing a room. The sunbeds around the pool were also very comfortable, and the live music sessions and DJs during the day created a great atmosphere without feeling over the top.
The drinks were consistently excellent, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. At times, though, they seemed rushed and under pressure, and unfortunately that stress occasionally came across in their interactions with guests. I would like to mention Michele, the F&B Manager, who helped resolve a small issue I had during my stay, going above and beyond to improve my experience.
One area that could be improved is the quality of the food served poolside, which was inconsistent. Some dishes were excellent, while others fell below the standard I expected from a hotel of this calibre. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, but I would have liked to see more genuinely healthy options alongside the usual selection.
The biggest disappointment for me was the pool experience. Rather than feeling like a calm adults-only retreat, it often became very crowded, with lots of loud groups becoming progressively louder as the day went on. The pools frequently felt packed with people, making it difficult to relax, and there were times when they simply felt overcrowded. Sun loungers are also too tightly packed together giving little personal space and making it difficult to move around them.
I also noticed that the Amàre One offer was being taken advantage of by some guests who had found a loophole to get free drinks, and there were many people bringing their own food and drinks to the pool area. This had an impact on the overall atmosphere and, in my opinion, made the experience feel less like the premium, sophisticated hotel environment I was expecting.
More active management of guest behaviour around the pool areas would make a significant difference. For example, guests regularly dropped litter and also sat on the pool steps for long periods, making it difficult for others to comfortably enter and exit the pool, particularly those who did not want to use the ladders. Small interventions from the hotel team to manage these situations would help maintain a more considerate and enjoyable environment for everyone.
I think the hotel needs to decide what it is - party hotel or premium, and make appropriate changes. For a more quality feel, it would benefit enormously from dedicating one ground floor pool as a quiet, relaxation zone for guests looking for a more peaceful atmosphere, while leaving the other for those wanting a livelier social scene. Clearer management of poolside behaviour, including noise levels, outside food and drinks, and use of shared pool spaces, would help maintain the standard and ambience the hotel could be aiming for.
The clientele wasn’t quite what I expected from the hotel’s branding. I had anticipated a sophisticated, laid-back vibe, but found it to be much louder and more boisterous than expected.
Taxis were a real frustration and often difficult to get. On the plus side, the nearby ferry service was very convenient. Perhaps the hotel could consider a free bookable shuttle service to a major taxi rank or popular spots on the island.
Overall, there is a lot to like about Amàre Beach Hotel Ibiza. It’s clean, comfortable, well maintained and has some excellent entertainment. However, if you’re looking for a genuinely peaceful and relaxing break, this may not deliver the atmosphere you’re expecting. I would probably choose a different hotel next time unless changes were made to create a quieter pool area and restore more of the calm, premium experience the hotel’s branding suggests."
