"What an amazing experience from start to finish!
The hotel looks incredible! Amazing entrance with bubbling pools of water, wonderful and varied architecture in the reception/lobby area and throughout the whole hotel. You immediately feel like you have stepped into a piece of paradise! Just what we were wanting for our honeymoon!
Check in was smooth, quick and friendly. We were taken through how everything worked, where things were, etc by an extremely polite concierge on reception. A refreshing welcome drink was a nice little extra touch too. Our cases were taken to our room by David, who was very friendly and polite, and who made a great first impression on us. A great start to our honeymoon!
Our room was Room 252 - a Junior Suite with full sea view....and what a view! It was sensational! A lovely vista of sand, sea and the Island of Lobos...was beautiful and a view we never got tired of looking at from our private veranda. Beautifully romantic and when we return - which we are planning on already - we would certainly ask for that room again!! The room was well decorated, with nice wall art and a bed that was so big you could get lost in it! It was amazingly comfy too! Loads of space for clothes in the wardrobes and if you need more hangers, a simply call to reception to request more is all you need to do - we had our extra hangers delivered within a few minutes!! There is a handy safe in the room as well as ample coffee and tea making facilities which are replenished when used. A well-stocked mini bar was welcome too, which was refilled everyday as part of our package - particularly useful for all the water you'll drink! It included beers and a selection of branded fizzy drinks. The bathroom was large and had the most amazing shower over the bath! It was sooo good! Ample towels and complimentary bath robes and slippers were an added little bit of luxury which we loved. Our room was cleaned everyday by Gloria (thank you!) and was spotless. Towels changed and linen changed when we requested. A nice touch was the evening turn down service which had little chocolates put on our bed when we arrived back to the room in the evening. The room was amazing and was a great place to relax when getting ready for another day in paradise!
The pool area was lovely. Two large pools and a small one for sitting in. Never full - perhaps due to it being a little chilly - but wonderful facilities to have. Always sunbeds available, never mind what time of day we went down for a relax by the pool. Although there were some people who did the inevitable rush at 9am to chuck towels on sunbeds routine - a shame really as there was no need to do that. The sun deck was a real sun trap throughout the day - it did get a little breezy at times but didn't spoil it all to be honest. The pool attendants were very friendly and helpful with fresh towels available every day if you needed them and they were also on hand to help move sunbeds and set up your sun umbrella should you have needed it. The pool area was very clean, well maintained and a relaxing place to spend sun drenched hours! A nice touch are the waiters/waitresses that come round from the Seaside Grill who came around to take drink orders.
The Market Cafe is where we had our breakfasts and several evening meals. You certainly won't go hungry! And I defy you not to be able to find something you won't want to eat! Plenty of seating both inside and out - we sat outside for breakfast to soak in the fresh morning air and inside in the evening. Lovely concierges on the door to welcome you too. Breakfast had a large selection of continental style cheeses, hams, salads, fish, cereal, nuts, seeds, etc. Plenty of choice of fresh fruit and yoghurts too, alongside a mouth-watering array of pastries. The cooked breakfast was varied, with your bacon, eggs, sausages, etc but with nice additional things like Spanish omelettes and a cooking station where you could get customised egg dishes cooked to order. Fresh coffee or tea was brought to your table and there was a large range of fresh juices, water and cava on offer too! Very friendly and efficient waiting staff.
We had our lunches at the Seaside Grill as part of our package. Absolutely amazing! Such an airy place to go for some excellent food. A wide range available and it was very easy to have a 3 course meal! Food was fresh, well-cooked and presented and a choice for everyone’s palette. You need to try this place. Lovely views across the ocean too.
Evening meals in the Market Café were overall excellent with loads of choice, both in hot and cold food. A wide variety of salads, cold meats, fresh fish etc for starters and always a good selection of hot food. There were ‘themed’ evenings with a small selection of specialised dishes to choose from, but always well presented and well-cooked. There were fish and meat cooking stations where you could choose from a selection of either fresh fish or meat for them to be cooked to your requirements – a nice touch. The desserts were amazing! So much tempting choice and always scrumptious! You certainly will not leave hungry! Again, the waiting staff were excellent, asking for your drinks orders and making sure your glasses remained filled when required!
We also dined at 2 of the specialist restaurants – Himitsu and Olio. We recommend pre-booking either at reception or as we did on the hotel’s app. Super easy to do. Himitsu is the Japanese restaurant, and the food was superb. You could book various menus, and we decided to have one at a table –you can have had a seat at one of the chef’s hotplates for a specialised eating experience. The waiting staff were friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome indeed. The food was exceptional. My wife loved the Miso soup and the Pork main I had was wonderful! Again, you will not go hungry! Olio is the Mediterranean restaurant and was a ‘fine-dining’ experience I would say. Again, a lovely range of food to try, very tasty and certainly worth a visit.
The main bar was ‘Rendezvous’ in the main lobby area. We had read reviews that it was hard to get a drink when there – I am not sure what problem the people who have said this had but we had no such problems! We would find a seat and a helpful bar attendant would come over, take our order and deliver it us. Never had to wait long at all. A good selection of drinks to choose from too, both alcoholic and hot. It was a lovely place to relax at the end of the day, with views over the sea from a balcony and a relaxed vibe throughout. The entertainment was low key but was of a good standard, with singers, duos, musicians on stage throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a rowdy get up and dance sort of entertainment, this isn’t for you. It was a more relaxed vibe and certainly a lovely way to wind down and chill.
The Spa and gym facilities were outstanding. As part of our package we had 2 hours per day in the spa – we wish we had made much more use of it to be honest! The spa is huge! A massive pool area with a number of whirlpool areas and cascading water falls to sit/stand under and relax. The pool is big enough to go for a decent swim in too. There are loungers around the pool should you feel the need to pop out and relax. We used the sauna and solarium as well which were so nice! We would suggest going in the early morning as it did get busy mid/late afternoon when people were going in from having spent the day out/by the pool. Lovely reception staff as well!
My wife had a Swedish massage treatment as treat for the honeymoon and said it was one of the best massages she has ever had! Never seen her looked so relaxed! The treatments are quite expensive, but for what you pay for are probably worth the little extra to be pampered.
The gym was spacious and clean. Machines are modern and well-maintained. There are cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, mats, etc. Plenty of stuff to help burn off those calories from any indulgences! A lovely view over the sea and looking at Lobos Island too. Great air con and a water fountain, plus complimentary towels too.
The walk into Corralejo was majestic. A 15-minute stroll over the beaches passing breath-taking scenery along the way. The walk is relatively flat and is easy to traverse with much of it being on boardwalks. You will not be disappointed by walking into town this way! There are numerous beach cafes along the way – our favourite being the Palm Beach Café - try it! When you get into the town you are spoilt for choices for shops, bars and restaurants. You will love it. You can walk along the road into town if you want – probably better to do that at night – but why miss the amazing sea scenery during the day! Honestly, the views are out of this world!
We could not have chosen a better place for our honeymoon – it was everything we had hoped for and more. If you’re looking for that special indulgent break in a magical setting with views you will never forget, this is the place for you!
We will be back!"
