"🌴 OUR REVIEW OF ALUASUN COSTA PARK, TORREMOLINOS 🌴 📅 11th–18th September 2026 After spending a week at AluaSun Costa Park, I thought I’d share our honest day-by-day review. This is just our personal experience and hopefully it will help anyone thinking of visiting. 🇪🇸 DAY 1 – 11/09/2026 After picking up our hire car from Delpaso, we drove to the hotel. From the airport it only took about 7 minutes. We were greeted by Ingrid, a lovely lady who explained everything to us. ⚠️ A few things to know: If you are hiring anything from the hotel, make sure you have Euros with you because they take cash for deposits. You can pay by card, but it can be a bit of a pain. Also, THE HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER CURRENCY EXCHANGE. The hotel has two parking areas — one outdoors and one undercover. We chose the outdoor parking. Then it was time to see our room… and honestly, I was shocked — in a good way! 😍 We were on the 8th floor and the room was HUGE. There was so much room to move around and it was nice and clean. We hired a kettle. They didn’t have any in stock at the time, but they actually went out and bought one for us! Now that’s service. 👏 The bathroom might not be to everyone’s taste, but I absolutely loved it. The shower was powerful and could get VERY hot! 🚿 We were half board, so breakfast and dinner were included. I’ll therefore only be reviewing those two meals. Dinner that evening had an American theme. There was plenty of other food available too. I had some soup, which was very nice, followed by some desserts. 🍺 Drinks: Being half board, you can help yourself to soft drinks, beer, wine and sangria. We didn’t stay for the entertainment that night as we went out for the evening. ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 2 – 12/09/2026 🍳 Breakfast: We had freshly cooked omelettes, made right in front of you. You choose your own fillings. I had cheese and tomato. 😋 The coffee from the machine was a little strong for me, though. We then headed out for the day to Butterfly Park in Benalmádena 🦋. This is such a lovely place to visit. We also visited the Stupa of Enlightenment, which was another beautiful place. Back to the hotel and down to the pool. 🏊‍♀️ ⚠️ One thing I noticed — it can be VERY slippery around the edge of the pool, so be careful. We got chatting to some other Brits, which is always nice on holiday. 🍽️ Dinner that night was again American themed. The food looked okay. I also noticed there was a microwave available, which is handy if you want to heat something up. 🎭 Entertainment that evening was a mini disco for the children followed by a show with Disney princesses. ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 3 – 13/09/2026 🇬🇮 GIBRALTAR DAY! We went to Gibraltar for the day and I would highly recommend visiting. We started at Europa Point lighthouse, parked the car there and then got a bus to Casemates. 💡 If you’re over 60, make sure you ask about the senior rate. We paid €40 each for the trip up the Rock. If you decide to go, I would recommend taking the taxi tour instead. It takes you around all the different destinations and costs around €60 each. There is quite a lot of walking involved with the pick-up and drop-off, and there are also plenty of steps. But once you’re up there, the views are AMAZING! 😍 The drive from the hotel to Gibraltar took around 2 hours. We drove straight through and didn’t have to show our passports. Back at the hotel, we went for dinner. I hadn’t had much because I’d already had Burger King 😂, so I just had some fruit. 🍉 There is always plenty of fruit available. 🎭 The entertainment that evening was African acrobatics. We didn’t stay long because we were absolutely shattered! ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 4 – 14/09/2026 After a decent night’s sleep, we headed into the main town and had an English breakfast at Milligans. The service was a little slow, but they were very busy, so understandable. We had a walk around town before returning to the hotel and spending some time around the pool. 🍽️ Dinner that evening was mostly shellfish. ⚠️ If you have a shellfish allergy, I would definitely be mindful. It was quite difficult to find food where guests hadn’t already used the same utensils that had been used for the fish. I had rice with other bits mixed in. 🎤 Entertainment that night was a couple singing. ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 5 – 15/09/2026 🌅 We got up early to watch the sunrise on the beach. If this is your thing, I definitely recommend getting up to see it. It’s beautiful. We then went for breakfast at a beachfront restaurant called Hawaii. WOW! 😍 The complete breakfast was amazing and it was the best coffee I’ve had since being here. It was so good that I had another one! ☕😂 We then spent the rest of the day around the pool. We didn’t stay for the evening entertainment as we went to bed early. ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 6 – 16/09/2026 This morning I discovered just how thin the walls are in the hotel! 😂 I was rudely woken at 7am by an alarm going off. I don’t mind people getting up early — that’s expected when people have days out or early flights — but please don’t let your alarm keep going for half an hour or more! 😴 We decided to go down to the beach, but first we went back to Hawaii for breakfast. Then we spent a few hours on the beach before returning to the hotel and relaxing around the pool. 🎯 I even played a game of darts with the entertainment team. For dinner, we went to Hawaii again and had amazing food. 🎭 Then came my favourite entertainment of the holiday so far! Three members of the hotel staff performed different dances from around the world. This show is a MUST! 💃🌎 ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 7 – 17/09/2026 🇬🇮 Yes… we went to Gibraltar AGAIN! 😂 We obviously enjoyed it the first time! After returning to the hotel, we had a bite to eat and then watched the Flamenco show. 💃 What a lovely way to spend our last evening. ──────── 🇪🇸 DAY 8 – 18/09/2026 💔 TIME TO GO HOME! We packed up our things, loaded the car and went for our last breakfast. One last freshly made omelette… 🍳 Then back to the room for the rest of our belongings before heading down to reception to check out. And guess who was on reception? The same lovely lady who checked us in — Ingrid. We told her what a lovely time we’d had before saying goodbye. ──────── ⭐ OUR FINAL THOUGHTS ⭐ Overall, we had a lovely holiday at AluaSun Costa Park. ❤️ The staff are amazing. 🧼 The hotel is clean. 🍽️ The food is okay, although it can feel a little repetitive day after day. We were half board, but if we returned, I think we’d probably choose bed & breakfast instead and eat out for our evening meals. A few guests can be a little rude to other guests, unfortunately. Also, some of the entertainment team didn’t speak English, so sometimes we had absolutely no idea what was going on! 😂 📍 Location: Remember that the hotel is a little out of the way. They do have a shuttle bus into town and back, which is useful. If you’re arriving by coach transfer, though, the coach will drop you at the bottom of the hill and pick you up from there. 🏊‍♀️ We had no problems with the big pool, although I did notice that the little children’s pool looked dirty. ──────── 🌴 PLACES WE RECOMMEND VISITING 🌴 🦋 Butterfly Park – Benalmádena 🛕 Buddhist Temple / Stupa of Enlightenment – Benalmádena 🇬🇮 Gibraltar And if you do visit Gibraltar and want to go up the Rock, I would definitely recommend the taxi tour. It’s around €60 each, but in my opinion it’s well worth it because it takes you around all the main destinations without having to do all the walking yourself. ❤️ FINAL VERDICT We had a fantastic week, saw some amazing places, met some lovely people and made some great memories. Would we go back? Yes — but next time we’d probably choose B&B rather than half board. 🇪🇸☀️🍹 Thanks for reading our holiday review! ❤️"

"Beautiful hotel, basic rooms, but very clean. Staff were lovely, entertainment every night, water aerobics and games at the pool every day. Food was good, there was some of the same everyday, but alongside with a 2 or 3 different dishes too. Fresh fruit on hand every day. I like the idea of a token for your glass, it stops folk having multiple drinks on the table. I will be going back. I love the vibe of Toremillinos, laid back and chilled."
