Estival Isla Cristina

"I start with the pros: clean, spacious suit with well working AC, and very good bed. Buffet breakfast with good variety. Most staff were kind and helpful. Some staff was able to speak English. There's a rather well equipped gym in the hotel. Sadly, there were more cons: The majority of staff did not speak English at all, and because my Spanish is limited, there was a lot of hassle to clear who's saying what. This was true to the whole environment. The hotel is in a small fishing town. There are no small shops and bazaars, basically nothing a tourist would be interested in. Empty, boring residential streets. There were exactly 2 variety shops in the whole place to get necessities and nick-nacks to bring home to the family. The dinner buffets were underwhelming. There were always some fish and some pork, but both were either unseasoned or overly salty - and often undercooked. Why no chicken? Chicken is the easiest thing ever. They offered nice side dishes, but very poor protein choices. I suspect I even got food poisoning from undercooked fish. The other annoying thing was that the hotel was full of babies and toddlers, so ALL the meals came with at least one kid screaming. Usually more. The hotel provided evening entertainment on Friday-Saturday-Sunday. All three groups were really bad. Some had the voice but not the ear, which somehow was even worse to endure. While the pool area of the hotel was nice, the seaside was not well kept. The actual beach was very narrow and steep, with deep sand which made walking there is unpleasant and unsafe. Also, lots of flies and mosquitos. I haven't had this many bites in the last decade altogether. Unfortunately we both fell ill (likely catching the flu on the flight from a sick kid behind us), so just sitting by the pool, surviving was okay for us. But I can't imagine what a usually active British tourist could do in this dead town. This vacation was a waste of money."

"Beyond expectations – a heartfelt thank you! We stayed at Estival Isla Cristina from September 8th to 15th 2026, and we can honestly say that our experience was beyond our expectations. Overall, Estival Isla Cristina gave us exactly the kind of holiday we were hoping for: relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable, with excellent food, a pleasant atmosphere and, most importantly, people who genuinely care about their guests. A very special thank you goes to the reception team. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed, respected and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, professionalism and willingness to help, always with a smile, made us feel that we were not simply guests checking into a hotel, but people whose stay really mattered to them. We were also very impressed by the food. We had half board and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the meals. There was always a good choice of dishes, everything was fresh and well prepared, and we genuinely enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Another lovely surprise was the live entertainment every evening. The music and performances created a wonderful atmosphere and made our evenings at the hotel really enjoyable. It was a great way to end each day. But what we will remember most are the people. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Estival Isla Cristina team! ❤️ We would especially like to express our gratitude to them, for everything they did to make our holiday so enjoyable. We left Isla Cristina with beautiful memories, a grateful heart and the feeling that we had chosen the right place for our holiday. "The hotel is very good, nice pool, the best part is the room, good cleanliness and the beach right next door. But the food leaves a lot to be desired. Given the quality of the hotel, they should improve the food and there is very little variety."
