Catalonia Magdalenes

"Very comfortable and excellent location, in the Gothic Quarter, near Plaza Cataluña and the Barcelona Cathedral. The kindness of all the staff is noteworthy, always attentive to your needs. The attention and kindness of Ruth, Ilia, and Silver are noteworthy."

"We flew into Barcelona a few days early for a cruise. I chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews, and it lived up to everything that has been said. The staff was so friendly! Bed was super comfy, and the room was quiet. The rooftop bar was amazing; we went up there every night for a nightcap. The bartender has ruined me for mojitos - his were the absolute best! The breakfast was fantastic as well. The location can't be beat; we walked everywhere we needed to go. When it was time to leave, they got us a cab very promptly. Definitely will stay here again when we come back."

"We had an amazing three-night stay at the Catalonia Magdalenes in Barcelona. The hotel is perfectly situated, within easy walking distance of major attractions and the subway, making it an ideal home base for exploring the city. Our room was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, with a robe, slippers, hairdryer, coffee machine, fridge (with snacks available for purchase), and even a scale — which was especially helpful for checking our luggage weight before heading to the airport! The shower deserves a special mention. It had incredible water pressure, and after a long day of sightseeing, it was absolutely fabulous. It may seem like a small thing, but it really made a difference. The rooftop is lovely. We played cards outside in the evening and enjoyed the comfortable seating while watching the sun go down. During the day, we saw many guests relaxing by the pool and enjoying a refreshing dip. It’s a wonderful place to unwind. Breakfast was excellent, with a huge variety of choices. There was fresh-squeezed orange juice, fruit, cheeses, cereals, breads, pancakes and so much more — truly everything you could hope for. A wonderful chef is also available to prepare omelettes to order, and I had one every morning. They were delicious! But the true gems of this hotel are Simo and Naya. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. Both gave us an exceptionally warm welcome and were incredibly helpful throughout our visit. Simo helped us map out areas to visit and assisted us with taxis and our luggage. Naya took the time to explain how to use the subway system and even walked us in the right direction so we wouldn’t get lost on the morning of the marathon. Their kindness and willingness to help was truly appreciated. All of the staff were kind, welcoming and helpful. I would also like to commend the other Catalonia hotels in the area. At one point, we managed to get ourselves a little lost — lol — and simply walked into one of the sister hotels. The staff there immediately helped us without hesitation. That level of hospitality really stood out to us. Thank you so much to everyone at Catalonia Magdalenes for making our three nights in Barcelona so enjoyable. We loved our stay and would happily return!"
