Punta Penne Beach
One of the closest beaches to the centre of Brindisi, Punta Penne Beach is about a 15-minute drive from town. It’s on the southern edge of the Guaceto Marine Protected Area. It’s a striking setting, a beautiful long sweep of white sand backed by dunes covered in juniper bushes. The sea bed slopes gently away from the beach making it a good place if you want to swim with young children. Be sure to take everything you’ll need as there are few facilities.Torre Guaceto Beach
A 16th-century tower stands in the centre of this lengthy strip of beach in the heart of a marine protected area. It’s a wonderful place for snorkelling and scuba diving and it’s possible to hire bikes to explore the long pathways through the marshes. In the evenings, there are often art installations and theatrical productions. This relatively undeveloped area is wild, rugged and beautiful but there are cafes and ice-cream parlours along the beach.Torre Pozzelle Beach
About half an hour north by car from Brindisi lie a series of tiny towel-sized coves and inlets that together make up the Torre Pozzelle beaches. Wild and untouched, these beaches are ideal if you want to hide away in a private corner. They remain relatively uncrowded all year round despite being excellent spots for swimming and snorkelling. Named after the tiny Pozzella Tower, you can expect to find bright white sand and turquoise seas.
