Spring Hotel Bitacora

"Bedbugs ruined an otherwise good stay. Moved to another room but now dealing with hassle of bringing our clothes/luggage back into home while not trusting that they're not infected. Hotel did not offer any compensation outside of a new room while we were there."

"Visited this hotel for 10 nights in September. I have travelled to Tenerife at least 2 times per year for a good few years and have never had any major issues to complain about, but this hotel needs to close to have a deep clean and buy all new sleeping furniture. On arrival at the hotel, we checked our bed, baby and toddler beds for bedbugs as we had read about these in a group I joined just before coming. Beds seemed fine and so did the rooms. However, I was awake half of the night scratching, but thought I was just being paranoid, until the next morning when we woke to bedbugs visible on the top of the bedsheet. Reported to reception and after being told that it wasn't possible and having to show pictures to prove it, we were told the policy was to hand all our belongings over to be put in a freezer for a few hours and change room. Second room... Got to 2nd room and pulled all the beds apart to check mattresses. This time the black marks from bedbugs were visible all over the mattresses. Luckily we hadn't taken our luggage into the room. We were then moved to a third room. Third room... Again, pulled beds apart to check mattresses - all seemed fine. I was awake most nights checking my covers and my little ones covers (11months old and 2 year old). It wasn't until 2 days into staying in this room that I started to notice bites on my arms. I used my torch on my phone to have a closer look at the mattress and I was sure I could see tiny bedbugs (googled them and they matched). We had been in contact with Jet2 from the start. They tried to tell us that they didn't have any other reports from customers about bedbugs since February (which was total lies and I showed her other people's comments about reporting bedbugs). The rep then was almost siding with us telling us to make sure we left a review about it. I must say, other than the bedbug situation (which was a huge problem for us), the hotel itself is amazing. The entertainment is great. My wee girl loved the kids disco and Victor was amazing with them. Both kids loved the pools (plenty of sunbeds) and they spent a fair amount of time at the park/softplay area at the back of the hotel which is a great space for children. The food was just okay. We always found something to eat but it was pretty samey all the time and too many fish dishes."

"entertainment team are fantastic and put so much effort in for the kids, cannot fault them! Swimming pools are a joke, my 5 year old on the first day was told hs could not go down the middle slide but could go down the 2 spiral slides so this waa ok, until the following day the next life guard said no he cannot go down the spiral slides but only the middle one, we tried yo explain we were told differently but theg did not want to listen, and then on the third day he was not allowed on any of them which made no sense. My son has a small aeroplane float... noy allowed in the pools, no explanation why! One of the top pools we had been going into the pool with our son for 4 days, along with many other kids, on 5th day was informed no kids allowed, we asked why we got told just no kids allowred but adults can go in and the kids can watch, gobsmacked at this as have never heard anything like it! Food was mostly the same every night, was not terrible, could always find sometbing but very limited optjons and always the same. Lunch out at the pool was good, but have never encountered such rude staff in a hotel ever! No communicatiom at all. waited 50 minutrs for a hotdog and chips as they gave out order yo someone else, theu did noy just automatically get it fixed we got told to go back up and reorder and would get served when yhe order came back around! I ordered a coffee at 11:45 and a muggfin, waited till 12:40 nothing, so asked what happened, they said it stopped at 12 so they dispose of the order as dont make anything between 11:45-12. but did not communicate this so again poor service, never apologisr about anything! cleaners are top notch as place is immaculate! All setvice very slow, waiters at bar at night go around taking orders, make sute you take tipping money as if you dont they dont come near your tables, so tipped everynight after each round to ensure service. Every morning people queue up for loungers at the barriers and when that barrier opens there is a stampede for loungers! Watch tiktok and you will see. Overall really dissapointed, dont like writing negative reviews but feel if service and communication imptoved would have the potential to be good! Also the park and kids club is great for the little ones!"
