"Really good family holiday. We went with kids 2 and 6 years old and they loved it. Lots to do for them, really great variety of pools and slides. Plenty to keep older kids occupied too with the bigger slides. At other hotels we have stayed at there is often older kids playing in pools/ with equipment designed for younger ones which spoils things a bit. I guess because they don't have much else to do at times but here there was no issue with that which made it great for ours.
The entertainment team worked very hard and always invited us to join in activities. We didn't get involved much apart from the kids doing the mini disco which they loved. Songs performed in a variety of languages, not that the kids minded either way.
We got lucky in my opinion with the position of our room. We were in block 13 with was close to pools and a short walk to restaurant and beach. Had we been in the main hotel building this would have made it difficult with the age of our kids as it's quite a distance to where you spend most of your time. The room was clean and spacious, and the balcony was nice and big too. This was really handy for us as the kids were exhausted from all the swimming each night so we could not stay out at the bars as late as I would have liked personally. But we could grab a drink and sit out on the balcony once they were in bed. Air con in the room was really effective and there was excellent WiFi coverage throughout the resort. Wouldn't usually be a concern for me whilst on holiday but was able to stream world cup games.
On the subject of world cup games, staff were really accommodating when England played and showed it in the conference room, even brought in trays of beers every now and again. Nice touch.
Food wise it was unspectacular but good for an all inclusive with this many guests. I'd seen other reviews saying it was awful but I don't know how anyone could complain based on our experience. Decent variety and quality, my partner and son are both very fussy and we're both more than catered for. My only criticism would be the queues for lunch at the beach restaurant. Can be really long most days and I think it could be improved with a little organisation. One section generally does donner meat most days and the wait for this is the long part, but the queue goes past the the salad bar etc so you often get stuck behind a queue for something that you don't even want. Quite difficult to get a table in the shade at lunch time but the staff were really helpful cleaning tables quickly and shuffling tables around as one that in in the shade one minute might not be a few minutes late
My primary criticism of the whole experience would have been the queues at the bars. At the terrace bar (closest to where the entertainment takes place and near most of the pools) the wait can be really really long. This is the main bar during the day, and offers beer cocktails, iced coffee etc. some of these obviously take quite a lot of time to make and the queue gets really long. I think the problem is compounded by people ordering twice as many drinks to avoid waiting again. If you just want a beer or a soft drink you can get stuck behind 15 people all ordering 4 mojitos or 4 iced coffees and it takes forever. A lot of other all inclusive we have stayed in would have a self service beer taps and fizzy drinks which could really improve things here. There is another bar just upstairs from here, the outside area is gorgeous of an evening and is quicker but still quite slow to get a drink at busy times.
My moaning about the waiting for drinks is absolutely no criticism of the bar staff, they work so hard to keep people hydrated. Akin and Kadir particularly were great.
There is 2 bars on the beach, one at the restaurant and another chill out bar further up. We didn't know about the chill out bar until another guest mentioned it to us. It's 16+ but not sure how strict they are about that. We couldn't spend much time here anyway as we had the kids but I would have been really disappointed to not know about this earlier had we been a adults only group as the daiquiri was very nice the one time I did take a stroll down there.
Overall I was really impressed with the resort. Food and drinks pretty good, just slightly let down by queues, everything else perfect. Gorgeous grounds, everywhere nice and clean. Friendly, helpful and hard working staff. So much to do for all ages. If you have young kids I guarantee they will never be bored."
