"Honestly this is not a 5 star hotel. It’s a 3 at best. Arrived late was directed to lift to rooms no help with bags. The reception lady was welcoming. Hotel room was clean and tidy the beds were an absolute delight. Went to soup kitchen (late food) and there was soup, salad, cheese and bread available. In one room the air con wasn’t working so waited until
The next day and it still didn’t get sorted in the end our rep got it sorted. Waited two days for access to the safety deposit box. Another room the air con stopped working waited another 2 days for it to get fixed. Then the third room the air con wasn’t working properly so went to reception 5 times and it never got sorted. Then two rooms had the shower head explode while using and the maintenance person said they hadn’t turned it on properly but they had and the heads ended up being changed. For a small hotel it’s very busy and at times feels like there’s to many people for the size. Some not all staff are pretty rude. Older man cleaner tells you off for walking on the floor after he has cleaned it, but where are you meant to walk?? The lady in the spa was rude when we went to change towels and when we checked out the young lad was awful! Gave us a pair of scissors to cut bands off snapped leave keys (while pointing to a clip board) and took him self back to bed. The cleaner who was cleaning floor 4 was so hard working and really good. The restaurant staff in the main buffet were hard working. Especially Ali and Amet ( sorry if I spelt your name wrong) and there was an older gentleman with a bald head who was also very friendly. We went to the Luna restaurant and that was very nice Ali and Amet were there working too. A family member had a birthday while we were away and the hotel gave her a cake, fruit and wine which was so very lovely so thank you. The lobby bar was very busy and they could do with more staff behind the bar. One barman in particular I think his name was Huseyn ( apologies if spelt wrong) was absolutely brilliant no drink to hard for him he took his time and it really felt as if it was made with love. I loved the cucumber smash! The pools are lovely but very crowded at times. The beach was gorgeous and the sea warm. Food was plentiful but sometimes cold. We were there for 14 night so did get a bit repetitive but we knew it would. It was all a bit samey if that makes sense. Some of the punters there were rude no “morning” “evening” when stood in the lift so we gave up. Entertainment during the day is the same every day darts yoga, aqua gym, water polo the odd dance from the staff during the day. Then evening entertainment was ok the dancing was good and the DJ was good but the man who does the talking during the evening likes the sound of his own voice!! Everything finishes at 23.30-00.00 hrs. There’s no late drinks. If you have kids over 8 they will get bored. Cats everywhere which if you don’t bother them they won’t bother you. It’s very regimented with times for things like breakfast snack bars opening and closing the merry cafe (ice cream). It’s a shame they don’t have freezers where you help your self to fizzy drinks or ice creams. You can help your self to water. Like I said while it wasn’t god awful it wasn’t great!! Aircon awful, attitude of some staff and guests awful, carpet all marked in hallways, communal toilets absolutely disgusting (some times no toilet rolls and you’d tell staff they never put any there). No rush to get things sorted if broken, no one offering to get drinks if you were sitting down( what you’d expect from a 5 star), fire exit doors broken, power cuts out at times, wifi issues, air con turned off during peak heat in communal areas. The beach bar was ok for drinks but snacks were poor. The saying YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Is very true when it comes to Berry blue. 3 STARS NOT 5."
