"Eftalia Blue
Room - we had a duplex swim up room for 2 adults 2 children (aged 13 and 15). It sleeps up to 6; double bed and single bed with tv, downstairs bathroom, patio with sun loungers and small table/chairs, upstairs there is a double room with tv and a balcony, a single room and a bathroom.
Plenty of storage space for clothes/shoes etc.
The shower has a tap, moveable shower head and rain shower and the water was lovely; powerful and warm. There are some toiletries but we brought our own. Room towels are provided and changed when requested (separate to the pool/beach towels)
The swim up pool is shared by 10 rooms. Our pool had the sun on it most of the day with it becoming shady towards the end of the afternoon (rooms 1029-1039). You can use it from 7am to 7pm. We really liked coming back to this mid/late afternoon.
There’s a standard 4-digit safe.
Where our room was situated was lovely and quiet, no interruptions at all.
Food - the buffet restaurant is the main place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There really is something for everyone! Breakfast: salads, continental, croissants and pastries, 10 different cereals, full English (ish!), fruit, fresh pancakes and fresh omelettes. Lunch: great selection of salads, fresh cooked meat, chips, nuggets, pasta, spaghetti, rice, 2/3 meat dishes, soup, bread etc, desserts. Dinner: similar to lunch but greater selection!
Presentation is fabulous (see pictures)
Went to the included A La Carte restaurant (2 to choose from; Italian/Grill). They are both set menus, you book the morning the day before you wish to go. It was okay, service was great but food was standard.
Burgerland is basically open whenever the main restaurant isn’t. This was really helpful on arrival as it was just after midnight and we were all a bit hungry after travelling.
Drinks - there was a fridge in our room (restocked daily as/when needed) with 5 water bottles, 5 Fanta, 5 Coke included in AI.
Drinks in buffet restaurant: water bottles, coke, Fanta, fruit juices, beer, wine
Drinks in lobby bar: fruit juices, beer, wine, some local spirits, etc (we didn’t use this much!)
Pool bar: water bottles, coke, Fanta, bee, wine, some local spirits
There is a different pool bar that serves milkshakes, ice creams, smoothies, and cocktails, these are NOT part of AI but are reasonably priced. We didn’t use it much, happy to drink what is included in AI.
Ice creams are available from 2-4 in the afternoon near the snack bar. There’s always a queue at 2pm but this quietens quickly if you wait a bit.
There is a beach bar on the left as you go through the underpass but we didn’t use this so can’t comment.
Pool area - clean and tidy, the staff work hard every evening to clean and sort it out ready for the following day. Open 8:00-18:00 (lifeguards from 9:30-18:30). There is an aqua park on site and a large splash pool, along with a small kiddies pool. Lifeguards are very good at keeping everyone in check and safe … no messing!! There is a DJ and disco all day with aqua aerobics, polo, etc. One day we had an inflatable out for an hour or so.
The main pool is busy, and you’ll need to take your towels out 6:00-6:30 to have a good choice of places. However, if you don’t there are sun loungers in the corner to the left of the aqua park so you can always get them out yourself or ask one of the attendants.
Beach - you walk through an underpass and you’re right on the beach. That said, you can’t go swimming here, you have to walk up to the next section. There is a long man-made beach all the way up and past the water park that has plenty of sunbeds and shade.
Waterpark - we surprisingly did not go at all in our 10 days 😳 no idea why not but we were happy at the hotel and pool!
Spa - well, what can I say … amazing! I got talked into a “deal” (5 one-hour massages to fix the knot in my left shoulder, and a Turkish bath for me and my son!). Era (apologies if I’ve spelt your name wrong) was fantastic. Best massages that I’ve had: over the 5 sessions completely loosened and fixed my left shoulder, worked on my feet and ankles, and also my hips!! I had “mix therapy” sessions, which included full body massage, hot stones, facial and head massage. Era responded to what my body needed - please request her!!
Entertainment- think this was down at Eftalia Island, but we didn’t go. It’s not our scene, we tend to have a few drinks and play cards. We did use the pool tables in the hotel. You can book from 11am for the same day (€6 for 30min, €10 for an hour)
Hotel (general) - very friendly, helpful staff throughout; reception, catering, cleaners, bar staff, etc.
There is a baggage room to store luggage if needed. We enquired about late check out, it was €20 per hour. We decided not to as we couldn’t have it until 6, so we checked out at 12 and used the showers near the pool and there is a shower in the toilets past the spa.
Within the hotel there is a photo place, sunglasses shop, clothes/bags shop, hairdressers/barbers, tattooist, mini-market.
There is an “outlet” just down the road from the hotel. It’s more of an indoor market than a shopping mall. There is a reasonably priced supermarket/holiday essentials type of shop that we walked to a few mornings. And there is an excursions stall opposite too, which we used (see below).
There is also a large market just past the outlet on Sundays. We got there early (8am) and had a couple of hours before it got too busy/hot! Both my sons grabbed a bargain or two.
Trips - My eldest son (15) and I went on the Alanya City Tour Combo. We booked via the stall outside the outlet (5 mins walk left out of hotel). It was €35 each, picked up at 8:45, dropped back off at 6:30. Included visiting Cleopatra Beach, 5000 year old castle, I ❤️Alanya sign (bit like Hollywood sign!), lunch (but not drinks) and a pirate boat cruise out of the harbour and around the Red Tower and peninsula. We paid a few Euros each to also visit the Dalmatas Cave and €12.50 each to go up to the Castle on the cable car whilst at Cleopatra Beach … well worth it 💛
Overall - great value for money. Thank you, Eftalia Blue 💛"
