"Where to begin,
On arrival the receptionist that booked us in did not give us a warm welcome, admittedly we were a party of 8 with 3 separate rooms, but we felt more like an inconvenience as we were such a large group rather than welcomed guests. This was the theme throughout the entire stay!
The rooms are pokey but we were prepared to ignore that if the service was good….it wasn’t.
This is predominately a Spanish hotel, not an issue, but came across as “a local hotel for local people” The few other Brits we saw also stated how they felt unwelcome.
When placing a drinks order at the bar two of the staff muttered something about us being British and laughed!
Both pool tables in the “games room” constantly broke/ate our Euros. Again, we were made to feel as an inconvenience when asking for help.
Pool floor was quite grubby.
The overall service is poor, at meal times the staff are hovering round waiting to take your plate which makes you feel very rushed, at one point we went to get pudding and came back to a cleared table even though we’d left our drinks there.
Much the same in the bar, drinks are taken midway through but no new drinks offered. Yet you come done in the morning and some of the tables have empty glasses and fag packets on them.
The straw that broke the camels back however was the fire evacuation drill that was sign posted to take place on Friday 21st of July @ 11:30. This was a typo on the hotels behalf and the drill actually took place on Friday 17th (photo evidence to prove) My 16yr old niece was on the 7th floor in her room when this went off, all internal fire doors closed, she didn’t have a clue what was going on but eventually managed to make her way down the external fire escape where members of cleaning staff looked at her perplexed as she stood there crying. When this was raised with reception we were fobbed off with “it was sign posted” we stated that the date was wrong on the notes but were again met with shrugged shoulders and made to feel an inconvenience, then 2 minutes later all signage of the drill had been removed from both buildings.
On the plus though;
Cleaning lady was very good.
Location is great, beach is a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel. But, and this is nothing to do with the hotel, be aware that the beach sunloungers went from being €16 for 2 to €25 for 2 overnight with no explanation why other than “today, new price”.
Food was fine.
The staff in the dining hall were fine.
The holiday was booked through Jet2 and we’re in the process of compiling an email to them with various issues we had throughout the holiday as no rep anywhere to be seen through out the stay.
Admittedly it wasn’t top of the range but still cost us as a group of 8 just over £8k.
I could go on but will save it for Jet2. Would not recommend unless improvements are made. This hotel is based on location only and customer service, especially toward Brits was secondary."
