"So the last time we went to the Coma Gran was in 2017 and 2018 and we wanted to see if things were as nice as they had been before, not just the hotel but the surrounding restaurants etc. The hotel was still as good as our previous visits, with a few improvements. There is body wash and shampoo in the shower (can't remember this from last time). We had ice cream from the pool bar 2 or 3 times - its cheaper in the hotel than outside of the hotel and a few different flavours to choose from. The pool got busier in the afternoon but not that busy that you couldn't have you own little space (we had a ball so played catch etc), sunbeds - no issue, no sunbed reservation and lots spare (we went during the last week of England summer holidays). There was also no one getting really drunk by the pool either (it is a family life hotel so i would hope not). There are quite a lot of young children in the pool but most have floatation aids on and looked after by their parents. The beach is a 5 mins walk and the heat there is much more intense than by the pool as it is open. My son and husband did the parasailing on the beach which cost 140 Euros (10 Euros more if you want them to take pictures, which we did and they are pretty good). We also hired a cabana at the hotel which was right next to the pool and so comfy with the bigger cushions on. These were 18 euros a day or 40 euros for 3 days. We used them for 6 days, ideal for that afternoon snooze as well! There are shows on every night, some better than others - there are some parents that let there kids become a bit feral at night but only the odd one or two who don't seem to understand the picture saying not to go on the stage before the show, and letting their kids go on the stage and the entertainment team coming out to tell them to get off the stage. The beds are firm but comfy, there is a normal size fridge and ours had a complementary litre bottle of water which kept us going until the next day, there was an electric hob but we never used this and a microwave. The microwave and fridge were spotlessly clean. There is a free safety deposit box in the room and free towel hire with a card you get from reception to swop for the towels, although i think the general rule of the towels is that you keep these for 3 or 4 days before swopping, not swopping every day but we did have a drying rail on our balcony which was a right little sun trap so dried quickly. Housekeeping come every day except a Monday. There is still a Spar shop next door to the hotel, although it didn't seem very clean, but if you are buying items in packets then i guess it doesn't matter. My husband and son went to the Carrefour and got some snacks and bottled water for the room. We were on the 6th floor. No sign of any insects or creepy crawlies that someone else mentioned. The hotel adjacent to us had a music act on each night which you could hear from our balcony, but this finished just after 11 most nights and with the balcony door shut you couldn't really hear it. We stayed bed and breakfast and there is a cooked choice and also the traditional continental cereals, cold meats, cheese, bread and buns. My son loved the pancakes and chocolate spread each morning. There are lot of places within a 5 min walk to the hotel to eat, we visited old haunts so La Casita (1) (no 2 was not as good), JJ's (walk down the side of the hotel, when you get to Christobel bar turn left and its 650 metres), Cafe del Mar (my son and husband loved their steak again, but unfortunately mine wasn't as good as previously), this is opposite the Carrefour so maybe a 6 or 7 min walk. We booked with TUI, 2 days before we travelled, flew Laouda air from East Midlands airport, (was meant to be Ryan air but they sub contracted it further - very small plane, a little squashed, but advantage that only 180 people at full capacity so luggage came out quickly). The check in process at Palma is a nightmare as its all self check in podiums and half of them don't work and so then you are waiting for staff to come and help and then you still need to drop your bags at the desk. This is a lovely clean hotel, with polite staff, not overly noisy, plenty of sun loungers (in the sun), would definitely come back again. Ideal for families (me, my husband and 14 year old son who spent 90% of his time in the pool). If you want a couples holiday this would not be suitable with it being a family life hotel"
