"Okay this is a review in 2 halves,
You cannot fault the location of this hotel it is utterly stunning.
The hotel itself is lovely, a massive shout out to the cleaners who keep this hotel so clean, the rooms are lovely, very clean and all with a sea view, they could do with a little more storage like draws as there are none.
The food... typical Spanish cuisine which is fine but too many repeats of the same dish and the temperature is hit and miss, they need more variety and need to ensure the food is hot!
Now to explain why this review is 2 halves, on our 2nd day at lunchtime we went into the restaurant with myself walking in front, next thing I heard was a piercing scream, my partner had slipped on something and landed really hard on her knee and hurt her shoulder, she was in such pain, but NO first aider came to her aid until the hotel were asked 4 times!!! Utterly shocking and then we found out it was the life guard!!! So now NO life guard at the pool, this person did not assess the person on the floor but got a glass of water for them, they did not check if they had hit their head, Nothing!!
We were finally asked if we required an ambulance which we declined as we were certain nothing was broken, the female duty manager asked us what room we were in but we don't know why, it was overheard that there was liquid on the floor and that is why the accident occurred but the waiter was told to be quite!
We want to say a big thanks you to we think the head waiter David as he was the only one that really helped us, he brought out a large bag of ice for the injury, he is a credit to the hotel they way he looks after visitors.
We fully appreciate that accidents happen but it is how they are dealt with after that's important, the hotel has a duty of care to everyone and we feel along with many other guests that the hotel really failed in this. Another guest the very next morning did the splits as soon as they entered the restaurant, slipped on liquid on the floor, again the hotel did nothing, can you imagine if someone had a life threating issue, how would the hotel assist? If at all!
Our point is the hotel should not have be to asked 4 times by another traveller for a first aider, we had to retreat to our hotel room for the rest of the day to rest up with our very painful knee and shoulder. We complained to the Tui rep the next day about the response time from the hotel, all the rep did was note it down, but on the whole did nothing. After a couple of days another duty manager came over & interrupted our meal to ask how the injured party was in front of everyone & embarrassed us , we requested to speak to her after our meal, we explained our issues and advised that the first aider did nothing but offer a glass of water, to which she apologised for but nothing else offered not even a crappy complimentary cocktail!
We stayed on level 4 & our room we found out later was over the restaurant, after 5 days we could take no more of the noise and asked to be moved, the hotel accommodated us and we moved to level 5, peace at last.
This is the first hotel we have been to where the cocktails are absolutely shocking, you have to pay for a standard Pina Colada and a mojito, and when you do they can't even make it right, far too much lime and the other drinks are so weak.
A positive note a big well done to the Animation team who work their backsides off, however the sound system in the Bluebar is awful, everyone feels sorry for the artists they book because you can't hear them properly due the sound system, such a shame as you have to leave.
Another positive note, the bar staff, Wow do they earn their money, they work so hard but absolutely NOT enough staff at the pool bar so the queue is always massive and it's the only bar open in the hotel until 6.30.
We would never return to this hotel again due to all these issues, there are too many big chiefs here to which we never saw them get stuck in and help their hard working colleagues!
So again, thank you the the cleaners, be proud as you do an awesome job, well done to all the staff in the kitchen & restaurant, you also work so hard, I hope you are thanked by management, and lastly thank you to the animation team, always so happy and keen to ensure visitors have a good time."
