"We stayed at Sol de Alcudia Apartments from 28th July–4th August 2026 and had a fantastic family holiday. We booked through Jet2 and the coach transfer took around 50 minutes, with the hotel being the second drop-off.
From the moment we arrived, all the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The housekeeping team also did a brilliant job. Our apartment was cleaned every day except Wednesday and Sunday, and it was always spotless when we returned.
We stayed in a one-bedroom, second-floor apartment overlooking the pool. There was plenty of wardrobe space and shelving for our family of four, making it easy to stay organised throughout the week. The apartment was comfortable, and the air conditioning was very welcome after hot days in the sun. The only small downside was that the bedroom stayed warmer than the lounge. We left the bedroom door open overnight so the cool air could circulate, as the air conditioning was a little noisy on the higher setting.
The pool was excellent and one of the highlights of our holiday. It’s all one depth with no deep end, so both of our children (aged 11 and 15) could comfortably stand everywhere, which made it feel very safe. It also wasn’t freezing cold like some hotel pools we’ve experienced.
The daytime entertainment team were brilliant and the pool games were great fun. We visited during the summer holidays, so it was busy. We tended to be early risers and were able to get sunbeds around 8:30am, but by 10am most had gone. Although the pool area was lively, it never felt too chaotic. There were plenty of ball games and inflatables, but we enjoyed the family atmosphere. We also met lots of lovely families and enjoyed sharing recommendations on places to visit and restaurants to try.
We stayed self-catering. We found the pool bar prices reasonable (€4.50 for an Estrella beer and €4.90 for an ice cream). We only ate there once and thought the food was average. Other guests spoke highly of both the breakfast and evening buffet, but as we ate out most evenings, I can’t comment personally.
The evening entertainment was directly below our balcony, which we actually enjoyed watching. It finished at around 11pm, which suited us as that’s when we usually headed to bed, so noise wasn’t an issue.
The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Alcudia Beach is around a 10-minute walk away. There was quite a lot of seaweed when we visited, so we only went once, although that was also influenced by two children who quickly decided they weren’t fans of sandy feet!
If you’re visiting Alcudia Old Town Market (held Tuesdays and Sundays from 8:30am-1:30pm), I’d definitely recommend going early. A taxi cost us €8, and arriving at 8:30am meant we enjoyed looking around before it became much hotter and busier after about 9:15am.
We also visited Hidro Water Park. Tickets were €32 per adult, €27 per child, plus €18 for three sunbeds. We enjoyed having a change of scenery, but personally felt it was quite expensive for what it offered. The wave pool was our favourite attraction, although it only operates for around five minutes each hour. One thing worth mentioning is that the paths became incredibly hot in the afternoon—hot enough that many people were running between shaded areas. Pool shoes or flip-flops are definitely recommended, as the ground can also be slippery in places.
Overall, we absolutely loved our holiday. Our children had such a fantastic time that our 11-year-old asked if we could come back next year, which says everything. We usually choose somewhere different each summer, so the fact we’re genuinely considering returning speaks volumes.
