"Smart, clean friendly hotel but because I struggle walking, not ideally situated as the shops and beach were too far for me! The double room was small with very little storage space, meaning that we were pretty much living out of our suitcases. A little more thought and planning at the 'design stage' would have helped enormously, especially in the spacious bathroom, where there was adequate space e.g. under the sink, to house two sets of drawers; as it was, there was no room to keep any toiletries/bags at all! Also, the way the toilet was facing a wall, meant that it wasn't particularly easy to sit on it or get up again, but by giving it a ¼ turn , this wouldn't have been an issue! There was generally loud music everywhere, again not for me, and only one bar where each night the music was much too loud to have a conversation, making it very uncomfortable and when parties of people resorted to shouting, yelling and laughing above the music and comparing, it became impossibleto bear! That was the only evening entertainment available, punctuated with kareoke, music-bingo, disco and various 'questionable' singers in the Pool Bar! In the restaurant, there was usually a good selection of fruits and varied types of salads. But my diet is 'Flexitarian' so I tended to avoid a lot of the mysterious looking meat/fish in sauce dishes, meaning my choices were really limited! I mainly went for cheese and salad every day, although the cheese varieties weren't great (usually only two) and quite tasteless! Sadly they don't offer much for Vegans or Vegetarians other than salads or fruit! Breakfasts were better choice-wise with a good selection of cereals, the typical cooked and continental breakfasts and there was always a good choice of different bread styles.
Unfortunately though, one time I witnessed a waitress who, whilst setting tables, dropped cutlery on the floor...she picked it up and put it straight out onto a table without even wiping it first, and also I noticed that she picked up forks by their prongs to place them on each place setting! Just basic hygiene standards really. I was very careful to wipe everything with antiseptic gel before using it...but I shouldn't have had to! Then on another occasion, I was struggling to seperate two tumblers to use one to fill with water (they were normally stacked in two's and usually always stuck together. I gave up and tried another that I managed to prize apart) Suddenly one of the waiters was in my face, yelling at me in broken English and flailing his arms about saying that he now "was forced to remove all the glasses that I'd touched because I'd contaminated them, and he didn't have the time to keep checking them all!"
He was shouting louder and louder as I tried to explain about them being jammed together and he flatley refused to listen to me! Everybody was staring and listening to the confrontation and I was very embarrassed and made to feel criminal! Clearly there is a shortfall in staff training here, to teach respect for guests at all times. I understood his point but then if the glasses weren't stacked in doubles, there wouldn't have been a problem! I am certain that I wouldn't have been the only one attempting to obtain a single glass, so why he targeted me, remains to be seen! After that, I dreaded going in to eat every day with him prowling up and down the aisles, causing me to feel massively uncomfortable! In contrast, the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful! Myself and my partner were booked in as 'half-board' but after paying over 40 Euros for 2×snacks and 2×drinks in the Pool Bar on our arrival, we decided to upgrade for 147 Euros each, making it far more economical all round, particularly by having access to water and drinks all day every day! Each afternoon in there, there were snacks put out, usually two sandwich selections (although with no butter on the bread, it was very dry and the salad in mine kept falling out having nothing to cling to) and a few cakes. The Animation Guy was lovely, an absolute ball of energy and worked so hard every day trying to encourage people into the pool for water aerobics, playing table tennis etc and then running the entertainment in the Pool Bar every night (albeit not for us!) It was always unpredictable finding sunbeds with a parasol as I assume guests must be getting up and out there in the early hours saving their favourite beds with beach towels! Unfortunately, the only ones that were usually left available were down one side of the hotel in the shade, next to some rather smelly drains! And on one of the days, we were unlucky enough to have the deafening, smokey machinery move in on the street next to the pool area to do road repairs! Thank goodness it was only just for that one day! We became aware that a certain area of 'astro-turf was reserved for "Premium Guests" as were some Cocktails (available to such as us, at an additional cost)
Honestly? I wouldn't book there again, based on the experiences above, but then this is just my opinion and could well be differently perceived by others!"
