"A Beautiful Hotel Let Down by Service and All-Inclusive Value
⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)
We returned today from a 10-night all-inclusive stay at the Bahia De Alcudia (8–18 June 2026) as a group of 10, two sets of parents with adult children, having paid over £1,200 per person. While there was cosmetically a lot to like about this hotel, several issues meant we left feeling disappointed overall.
We wanted to start with the positives. The hotel itself is stunning. Beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, and our rooms were modern and comfortable with excellent sea views, cleaned to a high standard every day. The grounds and facilities were impressive throughout. The location is also fantastic with a mix of night life, within very easy walking distance of the marina and strip. The beach is literally 500yards away and is beautiful
Several staff members genuinely made our holiday. Ceser, the maître d’, was outstanding — he made sure our group could always sit together by reserving tables for breakfast and dinner. Paula in the restaurant was warm and attentive, and one of the young receptionists who unfortunately we cant remember her name was consistently helpful and approachable. Toni on reception was fabulous on our last day making sure we had a lunch ticket and our bags were stored while we waited for our transfer. He also personally helped bring all our luggage down to the gym, shower block and gave us 10 fresh towels. The entertainment team deserve a special mention, particularly Deme, whose energy and professionalism were a highlight of our stay.
All-inclusive — not quite what it says on the tin
For the price paid, the all-inclusive offering was underwhelming. The drinks selection was limited, the alcohol quality was poor, and there was a frustrating inconsistency about what could actually be ordered — drinks available during the day were sometimes unavailable at dinner. It felt very much like all-inclusive guests received the budget options. Food in the restaurant followed a similar pattern — the menu barely changed across ten days and the quality wasn’t great. We ended up going out to eat and drink on several evenings, which is far from ideal when you’ve paid for all-inclusive. It also ended at 12 O'clock check out when we were not leaving till 6.30pm
Service inconsistencies
Simple requests were often harder than they needed to be. Asking for glasses of water at our table was met with a policy about bottled water only being available for rooms — However when we returned to the hotel after a evening out we were told there were no drinks available at all not even water. We were also repeatedly asked to show our wristbands despite being served many times by the same staff. The restaurant team were warm and welcoming; sadly, the majority of the bar staff (with one/two exceptions) were a different story.
The elderly gentlemen on the late-night reception team was rude and aggressive on multiple occasions. While our group chatted quietly in reception at the end of the evening, we were repeatedly told to be quiet, to leave the area, or to go to bed. We are a happy, sociable group nothing to heavy and we felt genuinely unwelcome.
Early in our stay, at around 11:30pm, we were sitting outside finishing our drinks when the lights were switched off without warning leaving us i completely darkness and even though the staff where fully aware we where outside, locked us out. A simple last orders announcement would have been perfectly reasonable. One of our adult children came back from the toilet at the time, and bar staff waited for him to go back to the outside area then lock the door behind him! Again this caused a hostile situation.
The pool situation
The pool itself is lovely but far too small for the hotel’s capacity. The usual sun-lounger reservation culture was in full effect. Annoyingly some guest would be waiting early morning to reserve beds and once they had done so leave them for hours on end not being used. The hotel would really benefit from an additional pool area — there’s a large fountain space that could easily become an adults-only plunge pool with a swim-up bar. On that note, the adults-only bar that’s advertised turned out to be nothing more than a seating area — there is no bar there to actually get drinks. There was also no background music around the pool. Deme who sometimes came to the pool area for activities bought a speaker but it was only for the time the activity was going ahead so again the hotel lacked atmosphere.
Overall
This hotel has genuine strengths — Fantastic location, clean and pretty, a great entertainment team, and some truly dedicated staff. But the inconsistent all-inclusive service, the unwelcoming attitude from certain staff, and the general sense that the all inclusive guests were more of an inconvenience than valued customers significantly detracted from what should have been a great holiday.
We’re an easy-going group who’ve travelled together many times and always look for the best in any situation. This one genuinely tested that. Because of some staff attitude, and the very very poor all-inclusive offering, it falls very short of its potential, leaving all of our party disappointing overall and could not recommend to others."
