"We stayed here for a week and hit the jackpot with the weather!
We liked the location of the hotel as it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle, so it's really quiet at night. However, everything you need is also close by and within walking distance. The only thing I would say is that the hotel is up quite a steep hill and we found walking around hilly full stop. We're able and have no mobility issues, so this wasn't an issue for us.
The pool was absolutely freezing! Which is a real shame as it meant we barely used it and throughout the day it was quiet in the pool, but sunbeds around the pool were still taken. On this note, as is usual for so many places, many beds were taken but nobody was in sight or on them, which is infuriating. Luckily for us, our children are able swimmers and don't need us as close to the pool, so the two times we did use the pool, we got beds.
Food at the hotel was overall good, more so for the evening. Breakfast was ok, but I really missed the wider selection of pastries and breads available that we have had at other hotel stays. There was also limited cereal choice. In the evening there was plenty of choice and children, who may be a little fussy, are certainly catered for well. The chef even offered to make chicken nuggets for our daughter one night, even though they were not on offer as part of the buffet. Although plentiful, the puddings on offer were on the whole terrible- definitely style over substance. They were also so similar and so bland! I had an almond swiss roll one evening and I didn't get a hint of almond!
Staff at the hotel were all lovely, especially the waiting staff in the restaurant.
The hotel felt quiet, even though it was fully booked, which we also preferred.
I can highly recommend the cocktails from the bar- they're great value for money and taste delicious too!
The bar and restaurant area are modern and well decorated, but this is not mirrored in the rooms. Although the rooms are a great size, they are dated and tired. The fan in our bathroom didn't work and twice during our stay the shower head fell out of its hold after a shower. Thankfully this happened to me and not our 10 year old.
The hotel has a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests to use and I used this often. It was €4 per wash and they also provide detergent for 50cents.
We used a courtesy room to get showered and changed before our flight home. This was free of charge and we booked it the morning of departure. We had it for an hour as a family of 4, which was just enough time to get sorted. They also provided towels for use in the room.
We had a great holiday in Lanzarote, but I'm not sure if we'll be returning any time soon. I know this hotel and Lanzarote as a whole is somewhere where people return to again and again, but we are keen to explore other places as a family."
