Floresta Hotel

"Firstly I'd like to say that the main positive from this hotel is the location. It's minutes from the beach and a couple of bars and restaurants which is great. It's also close to the airport so the transfer time was perfect! Unfortunately there was quite a few things that let the hotel down. The food was a hit and miss and very repetitive. You'll be fine if you love pork and fish, as that is always served. It got a bit boring of the same things every night. If you are vegan or vegetarian then you will struggle to find something to eat as the options are quite poor. Also, my partner who is vegetarian had some rice, but it was not labelled and learned that the rice dish contained really small pieces of fish. A lot of the dishes just have the name of the food but no allergies or dietary requirements are added as part of the info. This really should be added! However, the desserts were by far the best thing. Every night we tried the dessert from carrot cake, coconut cake, chocolate cake, tiramisu, black forest and may more. They were delicious! Breakfast is also pretty good, but again, not much option for vegans. The pancakes are lovely, and there is a wide variety of sauces to compliment them. Lunch is very repetitive as is dinner, so it did get a bit boring and we ended up having to go out for a meal and probably would have done a few more nights if we could. The snack bar you have to order for food which starts at 12pm. The options are fries, toasties, burgers, hotdogs and nuggets. And you have the wait until it's ready. There is no self service, same for drinks except hot drinks and water. The pool is pretty good, but doesn't ever seem to be clean. I saw it being cleaned once during our week stay, and I was always up and about early due to not being able to sleep very well. The pool gets crowded and it can be a bit of a nightmare as several families play ball games and you can almost not move as there is balls in every angle. The pool however is slightly heated which is really nice and the salt wasn't too strong either so that was a bonus. Not sure on the times of the pool, as people were swimming early hours and late in the evening. Sunbeds were still being reserved by towels, as mentioned before in other reviews. This has still not been sorted by the hotel. The room we had was a family room and unfortunately was quite run down. The walls were cracked, the bathroom was awful. We couldn't have the window open during a shower because the window came down too low and the water just went out the window, it was a bit odd. There was also a crack in the shower window, which was slightly dangerous! The dust on the bedroom fans were really thick which was a shame as the maid was lovely and always did a great job cleaning everywhere else and restocking towels etc. My parents who came on holiday with us had a lovely room and their bathroom seemed more refurbished and new. Unfortunately the reception team were quite miserable (the ones we came across). Which put a bit of a downer on our holiday. Especially when we arrived. The snack area does get very wet and they do put a sign up, but my daughter was carrying her food and slipped, even though she was going slow. These accidents do happen and that's okay, but it was a bit awkward after a younger member of staff with black hair and glasses, sighed as she had to clean the food up that my daughter dropped. I wasn't too happy about that when she eventually told me as she's just a child and these things are going to happen when people are getting drinks and food when still wet. However there were a couple of staff members who were polite and friendly, we didn't get the name of a particular member of staff. But he always made effort to talk to my daughter who always carried her dog teddy around. He was have a chat with her and would make her feel at ease. I wish I knew his name as he deserved a lot of praise as he was always smiling and welcoming. The children entertainers seemed nice and friendly, always walking around and seeing if any of the children wanted to join in with activities. Good if you have little ones. The area with the pool tables can become difficult to see during the evenings as there are no lights. As the pool tables seem to be popular with children, a few lights could be put in place for them so they can play a bit easier! We recommend giving a visit to the Texas Rancho waterpark. The animals there were incredible and it was fun for the kids to also have fun on the water slides. Overall, we did have a good holiday but I think with a few changes and upgrades made to the hotel, it could have been a lot better."

"My and my mum has just spent a week in this lovely hotel, we had a one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool, it was so big with everything you need, great shower, comfy beds and spotlessly clean, the whole hotel is kept to high standards, the gardens were fantastic and well looked after, everything is right in your doorstep, there is a spar opposite the hotel and the beach 2 minutes away, it should really be classed as a 4 star, we had bed and breakfast and the choice was great, everything you could think of, i would highly recommend 😀 ps great for people with walking or mobility issues."
