"I don't normally write reviews, but after my recent stay, I felt compelled to share my experience. Having read many of the positive reviews beforehand, I genuinely felt as though I must have stayed at a completely different hotel.
I travelled with my seven-year-old daughter. Upgraded rooms look nothing like advertised.. well not the one we had anyway...
Location: 10/10 ⭐️
Shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. The strip and beachfront are just a short walk away, making it the perfect location. Everything you need is right on your doorstep, and it's an ideal base for exploring the area.
Atmosphere: 3/10 ⭐️
Unfortunately, the atmosphere was quite disappointing. The bars were often very quiet, and there didn't seem to be many people making use of the entertainment. On some evenings, it felt almost non-existent, which left the hotel lacking any real atmosphere. ( the hotel was busy)
Room: 2/10 ⭐️
This was by far the most disappointing part of the holiday. I paid extra for an upgraded room, which was not cheap, but the quality, décor and cleanliness were far below what I expected. The room looked tired, poorly maintained and nothing like the standard I had paid for.
When I raised my concerns with reception, I found the staff unhelpful and dismissive. The response I repeatedly received was that these were the upgraded rooms and that I should either look at a standard room or contact my holiday rep. There was very little effort made to address the issues I had raised.
Another major problem was the lack of air conditioning, not only in the rooms but throughout the hotel. Fans were provided as an alternative, however both rooms I stayed in had fans that were extremely dirty and unusable until I requested they be cleaned.
The towels provided were also not fit for purpose. They were extremely small and would barely wrap around a child, let alone an adult. Housekeeping standards were disappointing too, with the room only being cleaned once during our seven-day stay.
Overall, the room quality, cleanliness and customer service fell well below expectations and had a significant impact on our holiday experience.
Pool & Maintenance: 3/10 ⭐️
One positive aspect of the pool area was the availability of sun loungers. Unlike many resorts where guests feel the need to reserve beds early in the morning, there were plenty available throughout the day, and we never struggled to find somewhere to sit. How ever they were old and not very clean.
Another major disappointment during our stay was the condition and maintenance of the pool areas. Having been on many holidays over the years, these were some of the dirtiest pools I have come across. They did not appear to be cleaned or maintained regularly, which was concerning.
The hotel did have lifeguards on duty, which I initially found reassuring from a safety perspective. However, on one occasion I observed a lifeguard spending the majority of the day carrying out maintenance tasks such as cleaning windows, painting rocks and collecting rubbish rather than supervising the pool area. While I appreciate that staff may have multiple responsibilities, I found this disappointing as I expected lifeguards to be focused primarily on guest safety around the pools.
Amenities: 3/10 ⭐️
The amenities throughout the hotel were very basic and, while perhaps in line with what some might expect from a three-star property, they were still disappointing.
One particular issue arose when I requested an iron from reception. What I was given was extremely old, appeared poorly maintained and, in my opinion, raised safety concerns. The iron was missing the cap from the water compartment and looked well past the point where it should have been replaced. I was genuinely surprised that it was still being provided to guests."
