"Arrived at the hotel at around 11.30am and was greeted by reception with a glass of Cava. We were offered the option to upgrade to Star Prestige, but honestly at 122 euros a day, this was just crazy expensive and we decided against it. Room was not ready for us as check in was not until 3pm which we were aware of. We got changed in the bathroom in reception and left out suitcases in their secure luggage room behind reception.
We stayed in room 237 which I think was an accessible room (not a problem, but we did not require it.) The balcony did face over the building work. There was no noise and no dust/ mess for the entire week we stayed there. Could see the occasional work man wondering around, but nothing at all that bothered us. It also meant we got the sunrises, we thought the curtains were pretty good and this did not stop us from having a lie in when we wanted one.
The aircon in the room would not go lower than 18, it wasn't too bad, my partner was more than happy with that but I do like it on the cold side in the room!! It was two single beds pushed together that were on wheels, so although they were comfy, good pillows and blankets they did move around a lot and they did not stay together (it amazes me that in this day and age you still don't get a double bed in a hotel abroad?!)
The bathroom was a good size, the shower door was so weird and there was a bit of leaking onto the bathroom floor, but good pressure and plenty of hot water. No toilet lid on the toilet and the towels were hung right next to the toilet, so we moved those and left them on the sink as this felt really unhygienic?! We got new towels every time we left them in the shower and sheets were cleaned regularly.
The floor was filthy in the room all week, at one point by partner stood on a tiny piece of glass in the room and cut his hand brushing it off before he realised what it was. We think this was a wine glass, as one of ours went missing during the week! We did ask the hotel to clean the floor thoroughly for us, and the room smelt like it had been cleaned but the floor was still very dusty and dirty. The rest of the hotel is very clean.
The pool area is lovey, plenty of sunbeds, waiters bringing drinks directly to you (which sometimes could take a little while, but honestly just go the bar if we are in a rush!) The extra sections of sunbeds next to the pool on the dirt floor is a bit weird, I think they need to tile this but it did mean there was always a sunbed available and all sunbed's were comfy, had an umbrella and table per 2 sunbeds. The pool bar area was so lovely- inside and out for having a drink or a snack. The only issue was glasses being broken in this area (just be accident) and not cleaned up too well sometimes, especially when people were walking around in bare feet. Its plastic glasses on the sunbeds (but lovely ones, in different styles/ shapes.)
All alcohol that we tried was lovely, plenty of options, as were the cool drinks (coke zero!!) and coffees. The water in the filter systems on every floor were a great idea, we took our water bottles so we could top ourselves up. It was cold, but not freezing. At the pool they always gave you ice in the glass, but in the restaurant they didn't and it could be a bit liuke warm in there.
Restaurant was lovely- plenty of seats inside and out. Plenty of food options and we thought it was all lovely. It would be nice if they advertised what each night was going to be (Italian, Asian etc) one night we went in and it was a lot of sushi, which just isn't for us. We still found something to eat but probably would have gone out that night if we had known. It could sometimes take a little while for someone to come over and take your drinks order which could be a little annoying at times and there was not enough people on the fresh cook/ carving stations. Which meant you could be waiting a little while for certain things or trying to flag someone down. However most of the time it was fine.
The little beach next to the hotel is just a stone beach, nothing exciting but pleasant for a little dip (you can sometimes hear the music at Nikki Beach!) Sandy beaches are within walking distance both left or right of the hotel, however I need to mention the coast 'path.' We walked from es Canar back to the hotel and from the hotel to Playa Niu Blau (a couple of bays to the right.) I would say that most people would make it to the first bay each way, but the path can be narrow, a lot of small rocks and stone and a lot of tree roots. We honestly tripped so many times. Any further along the coast road apart from the first bays, I would honestly say don't do it unless you are extremely fit and have good trainers on (this is not a flip flop path!!) My partner and I are pretty fit, we had good foot wear on and honestly some sections were pretty much impassable and actually some sections of it are completely closed because they are so dangerous. Be careful!
The staff in this hotel are fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and the app was super helpful for looking at drink menus, entertainment schedule etc. If you want a taxi into Santa Eulalia or anywhere else just ask at reception and one will be there within a couple of minutes.
I also had a 55 minute facial and 1 hour full body massage at the spa, which were both excellent. All spa options can be seen on the app before you go, and I got booked in a couple of hours after I enquired on our first day.
All in all a lovely hotel, liked that Santa Eulalia was only five minutes in a taxi, we did a couple of evenings there and it was amazing. Would go back to the hotel again despite the little niggles, nothing spoilt our holiday and the staff were very lovely."
