"Disgusting Customer Service!! 😡
Where do I start with this one!
My husband and I have been coming to GC for many years, sometimes with family sometimes with friends, & although we’ve stayed in many hotels around Puerto Rico/Amadores often come back to stay at the Bahia Blanca for various positive reasons IE good location & good entertainment!
So I didn’t think twice about bringing along my two friends (one of them being 78 years young!)
We’d previously asked if it would be possible to have 2 rooms within close proximity & were given rooms 101 & 102!
Avoid 101 at all costs!
Although it has a beautiful view of the ocean, the room is very dated with very minimal lighting, only 1 mirror in the bathroom, no dressing area, the smallest square shower with a horrible shower curtain around it that leaks water all over the bathroom floor & some random drying machine right next to the shower!! I’ve never seen anything like it. *AVOID*
Sadly, this is only the beginning of our stay!
We were due to stay 10-15th September 2026. 2 days into our stay, my friend (78) was exiting the pool at the deep end steps & due to the large gap from the last step up to the pool side, lost her footing & slipped very badly & broke her ankle! According to other guests around the pool, 3/4 people had slipped around that same area in the same week!
Although the lifeguard on duty was quick to attend was honestly useless! I had to request some ice (which he brought in a glass!) he did put a monitor on her finger to check blood pressure but his lack of English Language made it difficult for us to understand. I then had to ASK HIM if he had a bandage or something to wrap & support the ankle, he brought the most unequipped first aid kit I’ve ever seen & managed to wrap a very flimsy small bandage around it. This is where we were literally left to deal with any further treatments ourselves with no help from hotel staff. When I asked the receptionist where the nearest/best medical centre was, was told Las Palmas Hospital! Over an hours drive away!
I then asked reception if she would contact Dave from the entertainment staff, who’d been on that morning, so I could speak & ask his advice, which he advised a medical centre just around the corner, after waiting a further 45mins for the hotel staff to locate a wheelchair, we went to & were advised to go to the hospital for an XRay in Maspalomas.
It was confirmed there the ankle was broken & set in a part cast.
On arrival back at the hotel, Dave was back on shift & promptly came over to check on her, he was extremely attentive & helpful (unlike any other staff members) & even helped us get her up & down the ridiculous amount of steps to her room. When I asked at reception if there were any rooms available with less steps, I was simply told ‘No’
So we sadly had to cut our stay short & change our flights to go home the next day. James came to help assist getting her down the steps the day after which she had to struggle doing it on her bottom (78 years old!) otherwise there was no other way. Not once did any other staff member come to our help! & the same lifeguard on duty didn’t even bother to ask us how she was, Even after explaining to the reception staff the struggles we were facing! Disgraceful!
The only 2 staff members that actually cared & helped us were Dave & James! A huge thank you to both of them! Dave even came to see us off & say goodbye on his day off!
I asked to speak to the Director to voice my frustrations only to be told by the receptionist that he doesn’t work weekends & was given his email!
Totally, totally unacceptable on all counts!
I’m so very disappointed in this hotel & the lack of compassion we experienced in a very traumatic situation for all of us!
Ona Bahia Blanca you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!
Also, on a side note, we also found the bar staff very rude & obnoxious!"
