Bull Dorado Beach & Spa

"We spent five nights here in December and honestly had no complaints. The hotel had everything we needed to keep the kids entertained, including soft play, a baby pool, larger swimming pool, splash pool, beach access and a small arcade. We didn’t really make use of the evening entertainment as our kids prefer to be on the go, but there seemed to be something happening every night for guests to enjoy. The kids’ club wasn’t running as we visited out of season, but there was still more than enough to keep everyone entertained for five nights. The town and markets are also just a short walk away. The all-inclusive food was the standard buffet-style offering you’d expect, with enough variety that we all managed to find something we enjoyed each day. We also enjoyed the spa facilities, and our room was cleaned regularly throughout our stay. I’m not sure if it was because of the time of year, but there didn’t seem to be many other English-speaking guests or families with young children. Our three usually love making friends while we’re away, but I actually really enjoyed having that time together and just enjoying the holiday as a family. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant, and the whole resort had a lovely, quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It was exactly what we needed, and we’ve actually been considering returning again this year!"

"So my family and i arrived a bit late due to the flight issues . The first thing i noticed was only beautiful the hotel was inside. The reception we got was great and the customer service we received throughout the trip went from srength to strength. Specially from beronica, bellen, and shella who where unbelievable kind and so enthusiastic. It brought a smile to all our faces. My birthday was such a great day even though it was my last. And even though they had so many people to keep happy they made extra time to make my day that little extra bit special. Sang happy birthday several times. Even got a medal. These girls need either a raise or a promotion. Arguineguin is a real stunning place to visit. And its wonderful weather is only complimented by the people. Bar one that tried to run me over in the zebra crossing lol. On a slightly more negative note, and i am so reluctant to say. But it has to mentioned the food was no where near the same quality. Alot being over cooked and flavourless. And very very samey sorry to say. If the cheffs raise the standered to the same quality as the rest of the staff. I would for one be unable to fault it 1000% i would return, but probably work on other kind of food arrangements. We left with a heavy hearts. , but know we will return one day. And hope to see the same amazing faces as we did this time. All our love to the bull hotel teams. Xxx"

"Back home after an enjoyable stay. We found the Bull Dorado had everything we needed for a great week away plus a few extras we hadn’t expected. Especially considering that the cost of this break through Jet2 holidays was very good value ! The hotel is positioned next to a small golden beach with breakwaters, which is perfect for children and young families. There is another large natural (dark) beach five minutes walk away and a white sand beach at Anfi ( about 20 minutes walk away ) I wish we had visited Anfi but didn’t fit it in , it looked very nice from the ferry. We strolled through Arguineguin on market day but didn’t explore it fully. We still found bars, restaurants, tobacconists and souvenir shops although we felt the Spar store we visited just a 5 minutes walk away walk down the main road was the best option for most things. We used the nearby bus stops for visiting Porto Rico (shops/restaurants/nightlife) and Mogan ( market, restaurants, scenery) We also ordered a taxi from reception to Playa del Anglais for a night out. Our room was on the top floor with only the sun terrace and plunge pool above us, our balcony looked directly over the pool and along the coast towards Anfi .The room also had a small kitchen and large lounge area which was kept very clean throughout or stay and towels were changed three times which was enough for us. The walk in shower was fine but could suffer from a lack of pressure at busy times. The tv channels available were a bit disappointing for English guests as most are Spanish or German. The pool area was very big but still felt a little cramped due to how close all the sunbeds need to be. The usual suspects would be out at 7.30 am positioning towels in their favourite positions but we rarely got up for breakfast let alone to position towels. We found that whenever we wanted to sit by the pool there was always a choice for 2 people together whatever the time. We liked the animation team, the aqua fit in the pool was a laugh and different games around the pool also added to the fun. Cocktail and Sangria making was also really good to get people talking together. The Spa was also something we really enjoyed as you could just chill out in quieter surroundings, use the gym , sauna, steam room etc or treat yourself ( pay extra) for a massage, as we did . We always found something we enjoyed at the All inclusive restaurant. How hotels cater for so many guests with so much choice always amazes me and the Bull Dorado did really well, the staff are efficient and polite. Apart from the usual trays of hot food there was always fresh fish and meat on the grill , soup , salads, cheeses and local choices . The pool bar also stood out for its food, available all afternoon the hotdogs, burgers and fried chicken were really good as were the cooked to order steaks which were all inclusive too ! We enjoyed the hotel entertainment, we saw a soul night, a Michael Jackson tribute and a magic show during our stay and all were very good. There were also quiz nights, Karaoke and dancing shows. There was a mix of guests here, families, couples and groups of friends but the majority were older couples. Nationalities were mostly British, then German , Scandinavian and also a nice proportion of Spanish guests which I saw as a complement to the hotel. Bull Dorado is placed near the main road to Porto Rico and Mogan and both are worth the cheap bus fare. Or for €10/15 you can take the nearby ferry. The busy shops and bars at Porto Rico are something different from Arguineguin and the beautiful scenery at Mogan give you lovely places for photos . A taxi ride to Sparkles in the Yumbo centre in Playa del anglais will give you a different night all together !! We had a lovely time away and want to thank all the Bull Dorado staff for making it that way ! Thank you all x"
