"Just back from two weeks at Arguinegan Park and we were really impressed with the accommodation which is both clean and modern. The room configuration was ideal for us as a couple with children 9 and 15. The self service kitchen has everything you need to cater for meals and the balcony areas are spacious with dining tables and sun loungers.
Every apartment receives sunlight on their balcony, depending on which block your in will determine whether you have it morning or afternoon.
The main pool area is a little crowded with no rules around putting towels down on loungers but there are options further back and we didn’t feel we were missing out. They do need to purchase new sub brollies though as there are plenty of bases but not the same number of brollies. The adult pool provides a bit more relaxation for those without kids. The main pool rules are mixed depending on the lifeguard (some allow inflatables, balls and a bit of horseplay… other do not). It’s reassuring to have a lifeguard present so no complaints there.
The compound is quiet in the evenings with families making their own entertainment on their balconies which was perfect for us after long days at the pool or down by the beach. There is plenty of entertainment in Arguinegan when we were looking for something more.
The cleaning staff and gardeners are extremely professional and there is a security guard patrolling the compound daily which is good to see. Reception staff are friendly and willing to help, I think some of the negative comments we’ve read are potentially due to language barriers as this is a multi-national stay and they do well to communicate so effectively.
There is a medium sized Spar on site that has a strong variety of fresh items, snacks and essentials that makes it easy to prepare something at short notice or top up. There are larger Spar or Hyper Dino stores in town that are only a €5 taxi ride away. The cafe outside Spar and poolside bars give you good options to relax with a coffee, ice cream, pastry, sandwich or alcoholic beverage.
Arguinegan is a 5-10 minute downhill walk and a bit of hike back home. Take the fork in the road to the right of the football / tennis Astro to take the costal path or go to the left to go more central. The left path is a little steeper with no pavement so take care with the traffic.
Overall, this was a great stay for us. We would highly recommend Arguinegan Park and will definitely return."
