"We spent 2 weeks here mid February.
Very slick check in to our room, sea view with balcony including loungers. Spotlessly clean throughout our stay. When we were running short on shower gel we left a note and this was filled up. Bath towels rather small, but always changed daily.
All meals are served in the self service restaurant, with option to eat outside too. Tea and freshly ground coffee always available at every meal. Wine on tap at lunch and dinner. Not the best wine, but after a few days we got used to it, and enjoyed white, rose & red. Red wine was chiilled!
The choices at all meals were excellent, with very attentive waiting staff who cleared tables very efficiently.
The breakfast fruit juices were something else. Freshly made and such a lot of choice. We particularly enjoyed the mango.
There were live cooking stations at every meal. Sometimes a queue for fried eggs, or kebabs - but we're on holiday and waiting not an issue.
There were lots of salad choices, cheeses & cold meats, with every dressing you could think of.
Best of all for us was the fish. King prawns, mussels, tuna steaks, salmon & even caviar. We loved it all.
Always fresh fruits available for dessert, as well as gorgeous looking cakes, pastries & whips to tempt you. We ate far too much.
The main pool was unheated, and too cold for most. There is a smaller heated pool which was quite pleasant, and where aquarobics takes place. It's the usual scramble the world over for the best lounger position, towels left early in the morning, but not used until much later in the day. We didn't bother as it wasn't that hot and we had a lovely balcony, and were not far from the pool bar. This bar is open from 10am - 6pm. Sometimes a queue but always service with a smile. The girls on duty worked very hard. We became quite partial to a sangria cava (red wine, cava, ice & fruit) and during the 2nd week when it was cooler & rainy we had hot chocolate with brandy, frothed up on the coffee machine. Lush!
You can fill your water bottles here with chilled, filtered water. Also at the lounge bar.
The inside bar opened at 6pm in the lounge. Always a queue early evening, but they made fantastic mojito cocktails (at reasonable extra cost). Seating is in need of updating, not enough and not very comfortable, showing signs of wear.
After dinner at 9.30pm there is entertainment downstairs in a sort of night club environment. There was live music with some great guitarists, with quite a varied selection of entertainment each evening. The wine served there came out of a bottle and tasted better than the 'on tap' stuff. No beer as such, but lager available.
The hotel itself is lovely and there is a promenade to walk along in both directions but not very far. We walked round the little town but there is not a lot to see. A Spar supermarket if you run out of shampoo etc. We did some longer walks along the cliff tops. The beach is black volcanic sand with quite a steep slope into the sea, and quite rocky.
The hotel reception booked us a day trip to the North of the island. It was rather underwhelming, a long time in the minibus to visit 3 places and a stay for lunch in Corralejo.
Although not tempted to use, there was a spa & treatment area which looked very nice. Also a gym & games room.
We had a great relaxing holiday, and would recommend the hotel."
